YOUR OPINION : The Best bindings?

Alright, I know this is a tricky question with a lot of different answers due to many variables. HOWEVER, I want to know what everyone considers their favorite, or most ideal binding. Then say what makes it your favorite.

For example, if you are an FKS fan, say what makes it better than other bindings, specific features or components that make it outstanding and the most reliable.

I am trying to figure out the pros and cons of normal bindings compared to popular models like Pivots, FKS, turntables, all of those things. Thanks.

i dont want to be the dick but there is more than enough information you can find if you use the searchbar, and last time this discussion occured someones feelings were hurt, a bunch of time was wasted, and useless threads were made...

My vote goes FKS 155

Pros: all metal bomb proof, din to 15
Cons: breaking brakes is a pain

Typical responses will be FKS 155/185, STH16, Jesters, Mojo 15/18, a few others.

No offense taken, but it was hard for me to find a good thread that actually compares the best bindings, there are a lot of junk, filler threads. Sorry, I just wanted good info.

I like the FKS/Pivot line. I think the best binding would be the 155 because the DIN range is right where most people wil be in the middle. STH 16s are also bomber, I havent really tried much else though..

My vote goes to fks 155. They have always worked for me and haven't let me down yet.

The only other bindings I've used are px12's, which are ok, but they are a bit heavy IMO. I do like the feel they have when clicking in though.

I'm not much of an expert on bindings but I have Marker Griffons and I love them.  A lot of the pros use them (I spotted Downey using them in one of his edits, and I've seen them elsewhere, although I can't remember where exactly...)

Pros: Very light, different shape makes them much more low-profile, look cool
Cons: Nothing so far, except that the parts that hold the heel piece have been chipping off a bit.

Oh, and also, they lock really well.  Like sometimes you'll see the heel piece of Salomon bindings or things like that wobbling and bouncing when they're supposed to be locked, and when you step in it doesn't really feel like your locked very well.  That doesn't happen with mine.

i would agree, but i must say that imo they eject to easily when buttering. i know that i could just raise my din, but i have others at the same din that dont pop out under the same pressure, idk if this is just me or not. hope that helps!

THANKS for all the info so far.

But what features are there that make some bindings different from others.
Like what bindings have features such as vertical release and other features like that, and why are those features worth buying those bindings. Hearing some people talk about that would be REALLY helpful.

Yeah, plus I am 16 and my friend is 17. Then again, we only weigh 130 and 140.

But yeah, it is "YOUR OPINION" so I want to know what is going on.

Yes they are. I'm only 170lbs and I ride at a din of 14. The bottom din setting is still 8 which is plenty low. A hard park skier over 120lbs can ride at 8 no problem.

Somebodies knees are in danger.

A 120 lb skier should not be riding an 8 Din. I weigh 180 and I can tell you that I wouldn't be comfortable riding a Din of 14 either.

everyone loves the FKS 155s and 185s... but that's their biggest drawback.  vertical toe release is something i hold very important (3 acl surgeries) when riding park, and the higher end FKS bindings dont have that.  The FKS 120s do though, and depending on your weight/skier type a din up to 12 should be just fine for 90% of people out there.

Im 5'9" 155 pounds, and learned to ride my dins low the hard way.  I ride at 9 for park skiing, 10.5 for big mountain.

That depends on what your skiing. For park, yeah probably right. For some sketch lines you may not want your skis to come off.

i loved my mojo 15s and sth14s...for what i am doing the 16s are just unnessisary weight.

i have a pair of fks 155s but i got ass fucked when i bought them at the swap, cause some cunt sold em broken (heel peices are fucked, most likley cant be fixed)...so i didnt even get a chance to try em out!

My personal favorites are FKS 120 and STH 16. FKS 120 has the turntable heelpiece for the safest and most reliable releasing, yet an upward release toe for park where the 155s and 185 dont. I ride a low din so i dont need a higher range and i want vertical toe release for park. STH 16s have a 5 screw heel and a wide mounting pattern for my fat skis, and are way more reliable than the plastic jesters and griffons people swear by. Light, metal, and durable, and only release when they need to.

id say marker griffins are my fav.  Ive had them for a while and have never had any problems with them are really like them.  They look quite cool aswell.  I would say to maybe avoid head bindings because i know of quite a few people that have used them and ripped out heel pieces etc.

so i have a good deal on fishers x17 170 shipped and a good deal with head mojo 15 160 shipped which would be better as obviously 10 dollars isn't a big deal. Anyone got anyclue which one i should get?

doubtful you are probably mistaking them for the jesters, downey's a big guy he would need a higher din range than 12 which is the highest that the griffon gives

i ride park all day long, am 205 and I ride a din of 12. I have the Rossi SAS2 140 Ti's which are pretty much the same design as the dynastar/look series. I personally love mine much more than i do my 4Frnt Deadbolts, but the deadbolts are very good bindings as well.

i have used the px12jibs for the past 3 years on my park skis and never had a problem. they are nice and cheap and seem pretty sturdy, especially for me cuz i only way 130. i just came across a stockpile of sth12 and got 4 pairs for $40 each so im gonna give those a shot next year

i personally would get the ones without the pivot heel feature. In the picture you qouted above, you can see the heelpiece on the right is a bit different from the one on the left, its has 15 degrees of pivot. However the technology wasnt really perfected, and they supposedly pre-released alot. I never rode them, so take what you will from what i say, i would just stick with the normal heelpiece (left pair) if it were me buying.

Yeah you're probably right.  I mean I love the Griffons but I'm a light guy, but if you're heavier than me or ski way harder or something the Jesters are very similar, but offer a higher din range and are more expensive (and are slightly different colors).
