Does LRG sponsor skiers ? If not, why ?

Hey
I was asking myself about does LRG sponsor skiers or not ?
I check on their website and do not see anything about skiing, so I think that they do not sponsor anybody, althought LRG is a dope brand which is really loved by lots of kids on the parks..
What do you think about it ? Someone got info ?

LRG wasnt designed to be used for athletics or anything, it's just casual wear. I wouldnt be suprised if they branch out eventually and try to expand in the industries like skiing, but right now I think they are just focusing on expanding as a casual wear business.

lrg is still underground, but they will get into snowgear eventually. two years ago they did a collabaration with special blend, only one outfit was produced and it was hard to get. nick lyons rocks lrg outerwear, shits fresh.

why bother sponsoring skiers if they a) buy their clothing regardless, and b) are already a well known brand within the skiing market?

I agreed with the fact that they do not "need" to make more ad to be well known, be lots a famous brands continue to sponsoring kids and making ad, no ?

when you have pop icons like kanye promoting you brand, why backtrack and sponsor skiers who are relatively unknown in the eye of the mainstream?

sure they do sponsor some skaters, but skateboarding absolutely trumps skiing in terms of overall participants.

maybe once they decide to get more into outerwear, then I can see this happenning. Right now, from a marketing persepctive, it doesn't really make sense to sponsor snowsports.

Where do you live that LRG is "underground"? Do you live in some tiny village in the Phillipines where they don't latch onto American trends until a decade or so later?

If anything, LRG is played out.

exactly even sponsored skiers like Henrik, Casabon and Jossi buy and wear LRG so what do they need to sponsor anyone for? they probably do better with saving their money and profiting from the free advertisement

Justify it any way you'd like, but at the end of the day, you're just hopping on the bandwagon late if you're honestly trying to claim that LRG is "underground".

I think is quite a good thread. I was wondering the same. In fact few weeks ago in Avoriaz, France there was a guy handing out adverts for some shop which specialized in LRG stuff. I think as soon as LRG recognize how popular their hoodies are amoung skier and snowboarders they may consider making some more technical stuff like outerwear. However, They're a big company and I doubt whether they need to sponser any skiers or increase their share of the winter sports market. Don't know about america but they're not "played" in Europe, especially in England. Sure there's normally a few people in the park wearing an LRG item but thats because it's decent stuff.

Because the consumer that LRG is aiming towards isn't skiers, and when people say that they haven't aimed towards athletes that's a lie most of the people they advertise are Pro or Semi-Pro skaters.

hmmmm i'm from PA and I own that LRG collabo suit throw that theory out the window. Also to add they have collabo'd with Forum on one mens and one women's snowboard each year (last season may have been the first women's one though) LRG is well known Benny the Baller (hope that was worded right) some asian guy who makes chains for rappers made an insane diamond encrusted chain for the owner with the LRG tree logo as the medallion. Seriously gaudy as fuck. DROOL hahahahahaha. It's fairly big when Macy's carries it, and incase you don't know what Macy's is they are a huge fucking department store that has a parade in NYC during the holidays fyi

I'm sure they've looked into skiing.  I guess they just don't see it as a large enough or profitable enough market.

I still think its funny how so many pros wear LRG hoodies and stuff while they are not sponsered by them

I've been wearin LRG for like 5 years. Now when i wear hoodies or shirts by LRG, every other kids that sees me in it has to make a retarted comment like "STAY LIFTED" or something stupid like. LRG is def played out, but so is Hiphop clothing i believe, since its dead and all.
