Professional soccer players should be ashamed of themselves

Why do they ruin what could be a great sport.
I know theyre great athletes, and have plenty of skills
(and i know there are some very nasty real injuries, like with ankles twisted the wrong way ...gross)

but why dont they sack up and have some pride?  ive seen 9 year old girls who fall down on the playground and scrape their shit up cry less than these field fairies

I know sometimes the cards are actually given to the diver, but half the time they get rewarded for diving.  How can people stand to watch this and defend soccer. 

faking injuries when no one is around, realizing their miraculously cured when the ball comes by them 2 seconds after you would swear they got their led chopped off at the knee.  PUSSIES

maybe if they played through this shit every game wouldnt end 1-0

In defense of soccer players, the average midfielder is running 15 km a game, and similar to basketball there is a lot of pushing, shoving and armwork to get into the right position so sometimes what seems like a little bump may be a bit worse. It is still pretty pathetic though when they writhe around on the ground, watch some real soccer (premiership) stay away from the pussy Italians.

You've got to realise those aren't the elite soccer players. Although their country claims it to be a professional league of said country, most clubs can't even come close to the true elite teams, the best, of the world. It would be like people saying MLB Baseball is stupid because of some lame rules in AAA.

Sure maybe Italy was caught faking it a little while ago, that was a bad apple, but the really good clubs don't act quite that childish. They might try to get a call by staying on the ground a little bit longer nursing your wounds, but not so blatantly ugly like that video.

if anybody ever flopped on me i'd lay their ass out the next chance I got (soccer, basketball or whatever sport people do it). Flopping has to be the most embarrassing thing, because you are a pussy who can't take a little contact.

i'm used to playing contact sports like football hockey and lax where not only does flopping not work but you would have a target on you the rest of the game.

nothing against that sport, I think the players in the AFL are some of the toughest in the world (and for them to be laying those kinds of hits w/o equipment is beyond my comprehension), but most of those hits are hockey-style hip checks and forearm shivers, which would never fly in american football. this is my definition of a HIT:

you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking everyone who plays soccer acts like the people in that video. diving is one of the most disgraceful things you can do as a player, and the vast majority of people that play (at least at an am. level) think diving is a disgrace. christ, why all the hate for soccer when you have basketball, where on every other change in possession they take a break for a foul.

NFL players dont know how to tackle properly. hits like the ones in ghostface's video are very rare in football.

AFL players arent as tough as theyre made out to be. i still think that Rugby and Hockey players are tougher than guys in the AFL (and much tougher than guys in the NFL). hits like that are very rare in AFL games compared to the amount of hits you see in hockey/football.
People in football just dont hit properly... you get some bigger hits if you just go all out sometimes, but most of the time it just doesnt work out. Hits like the one in your video are a rarity in football... whereas they're much more commonplace in rugby.

as for equipment, you really dont need pads in rugby or AFL etc... NFL padding is a bit excessive but more necessary because the game is fast and the players are bigger... along with blocking being legal etc.

to Ghostface, i remember playing high school ball as a DE and i got suspended for a combo platter of spearing a running back, slamming him (yes, WWF style), and then hip checking him into the stands and knocking him and his dad out on that one....

so maybe the professional leagues over-dramatize the majority of hits, but you can't say that about soccer as a whole

i play keeper and have broken my wrist in the first 5 minutes and finished the game [/mega-claim]
i wasn't so tough this time around when i broke my leg this week though...

it's the officiating of the matches that's screwing everything up. the players know that an occasional dive will help their team, so that's exactly what they do. at a high school age the refs are wayyyy more lenient so i'd honestly rather watch a high school match than a professional one

yes those players should be ashamed. buy this is propaganda designed to make you feel exactly how you do.

but the real reasons that people face injuries you might not have thought of

1. the players are tired and want a break because only 3 substitutions are made a game max. if your a mid fielder you might have sprinted up and down that 130 yard long field 45 times and when your going 45 minutes with out a break you take any chance you can get to take a quick rest

2 when a player dives and is successful their team get the ball and might get the opposing team's player a yellow or even a red card ... when a player is given 2 yellows or a red  there are out of the game and the team must play a man down (its like a power play for the rest of the game)

get back to me when you get tacked by a few English defenders after 80 minutes

Controlling a soccer ball with the precision that premier teams do is insanely hard. There's a reason the phrase "beautiful play" exists.

The solution to this is to not allow any latin countries play ever again. This includes Italy (especially), Portugal and often Spain.

Referees are also to blame, they often let diving get out of control.

Great players don't do it. This is why CRY (Cristiano Ronaldo) will never be considered a great. He dives and not to mention his disgusting attitude.

Much of those dives are from lower tier leagues or teams. In the top 3 or so leagues in the world diving is much more rare (I don't consider the Italian league to be within the top 3 it really is shit).

In my mind there's a difference between a straight dive and making the most of a foul (which I'm not completely opposed too). Also, whoever said staying on the ground for a while gives you a well deserved break sometimes.

And fuck you to Ju who understands nothing but Halo and Boston. Uncultured carp.
