A classmates dad is dying

this kid goes to my school and is on the edge to kill himself, he will be lost without his father.

his dad went into hip surgery and something went wrong. not sure what.

and i'm pretty sure he was diagnosed with a deadly disease i dont know much, but i feel horrible.


this is making me sad, he's nothing without his dad, he's not a close friend but i have classes with him.


please say prays for him and his father. sorry i don't know much, but when i find out i will tell you guys

someone better step up to get him counseling before he pulls the trigger.


i've never been so serious on this website. please take my advice, suicide in no joke and can be prevented. welcome to the real world, go talk to him or do something, please.

i found out, after surgery he went into a coma, and his brain is dead. like literally, he said he's just waiting for the call from the doctors.

i feel horrible
this kid gets picked on to much, and this is what happens. that is just not fair

thats awful and i am so sad to hear this, so many positive vibes and thoughts to him, his dad and his family, i hate hearing about things like this

nothing like support man... be there for the kid, be his friend, back him up, get other people to be his friend. HELP HIM

I have a friend whos dad died last year in 9th grade. He is one of FOUR boys. His dad loved baseball, so did all the boys. he was always at the games, always a really nice guy, really into sports with his kids and he died of some sort of cancer i think. It was absolutely terrible.

But the thing is, tons of kids went to his funeral, and tons of people were there for my friend and his brothers and his mom and my friend got through it, and now he is a normal high schooler like any of us which is really the best thing

That sucks. If a kid doesn't have a big group of support they are way more likely to take their life. You'd be a big man to step up and reach out to the kid in whatever way possible. +vibes

+++vibes to him and his family, and dude, definitely talk to him and tell him that you are there for him in any way possible, even if you are not close friends....i lost my dad a little less than a year ago, and the only thing that really helped me out was having friends there for me
i hate hearing stuff like this..

well first of all, I am sure he is someone with out his dad. Thats stupid to say that he is nothing without his father. Just give him support, thats all you can do.

you are noone to say that he isn't, cause you dont know the kid,
people become attached to parents, they're like there best friend, and when some so close and important to you is lost, well it's like a part of you is gone, and sometimes thats the part that makes you get up everyday, and be stoked to come home from school, or from a trip, or anything

i can't say this from experience, being through two divorces isn't fun but id rather be in almost no contact with my dad then have him pass

++++vibes this is so sad, we should organize something for him just to show our support

a kid at my school lost both of his parents, got brutally sick, and then destroyed his leg in a soccer game and the community at my school gave him so much support that he kept his head high through it all. talk to this kid, maybe even show him this thread, let him know that there's a whole community out here supporting him and wishing the best for him and his family

Gosh Dylan, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and his heart breaking situation. So young to lose his father. My nieghbors husband just died from cancer 1 week ago, leaving behind a 17,13 and 11 year old children. It is so devastating to lose a parent, especially at such a young age when you need them most. I will keep them in my prayers....truely I hope the boy will be able to cope :(

When i was 9 my father drowned in a fishing accident. If the kid is strong enough, he can pull through himself, but he really needs some good friends to hang with and talk to. If he doesn't already, you should befriend him. If he ever pulled the trigger, i would feel really bad and guilty if I didn't even try to make him feel better.

fuck man that sucks, my dad passed away from pancreatic cancer in 8th grade i cant even explain how tough it is to go through. thank god that i had great friends around me and was really outgoing or i woulda went nuts. ill pray for him every night.

:[  thats terrible man, i lost my dad to cancer about 4 years ago, it sucks.  Please do everything you can to help this kid out, make him feel better anytime you can, trust me he needs help.

word i know that. i'm not sure what he needs ? maybe some cards or something ? he dossn't need much. i think he just needs people there for him.


he's not poor or anything.

and get this another classmates dad died today from an unexpected heart attack jogging, he was 46.

this week has been so shitty :(

I'm sorry about your friend's dad...

losing someone's really hard... I lost my best friend a year and seven moths ago from the 7th of next month... but tell this kid, God will provide and take care of him. There's a reason for everything He does and He takes care of it...

All you can really do for him is pray for him and be his friend. Best Wishes.

i think that if you befriend him in a month it would really help, a boy in my 4th grade had his dad dye in a car accident, i gave him a little space to show that im not just being his friend because of his dad, if you just let him rely on you i think he will enventually be able to walk on his own and become stronger, his dad (like mine) was probably his safety blanket, someone he talked to when shit got real rough, just try to be that person for a little bit, it will be very hard but worth it!
