Pvc, how to attatch?

i am making a summer set up for my yard.  i have already made the structure, but am not completely sure about what the best way to screw the pvc pipe into the wood.  anyone got anything for me?

Yes I do, this is how I made my PVC attach: I made metal hooks in a c shape, and made the ends both hang from the bottom of the PVC, and the flat part go through, and then I screwed in the two ends

if you go to my pictures you can see how I did mine.

If you used a 2x4 you can cut a long strip out of your PVC and then wrap it over the 2x4. then just use screw to attach the PVC and 2/4 good and tight.

the picture make more sense.

if youre trying to attach a pvc pipe along a 2x4 or any piece of wood for that matter, just pre-drill and spin in a nice fat screw. there are harder ways to do it that may be a little better but the simple downward screw works well enough for me

i put them in right through the top. put the pvc on the wood, hold it where you want and drill a hole in the top of the pvc, then take a smaller drill bit and put it in the hole you just made and drill this bit through the bottom of the pvc and a little into the wood. then go buy a 6 inch phillips drill bit and use that to put the screw in the wood through the pvc. i also put in washers inbtwn the screw head and bottom of the pvc pipe cuz sometimes the head of the screw will rip trough the pipe. this setup has worked all year for me and i never caught on the holes or had the rails rip off the wood

i'll rephrase.
go down throught the top


1. lay the pvc where you want in on the wood, then duct tape it down, tightly.
2. drill holes in the top part of the piping, slightly bigger than the head of the screws that will be securing the pipe to the wood.
3. pilot holes down through the holes that you just drilled.
4 drill the screws in.
5. sand down the holes in the top.


they won't catch as you grind.

i think the easiest way to do it is (as everyone said above)
1. Take the pvc
2.caulk it to the wood (holds wood down so you can drill easier)
3.Drill through the top (as everyone said with the bigger hole on top and smaller on bottom)
4. Sand
5. wax
