Armada AR6 or Pipe Cleaners are a good possibility. These skis area all-mtn, park & pipe. Good for up to 8" pow. These skis can carve so the transition from skiing groomers is good. If aggressive at 180lbs he may want 181 cm model. , 176cm may work. A cheaper ski would be the Armada EL-Rey at 178 or 185cm cap ski contruction and bit quicker on turning. Armada usually gives u 2 mounting points so he can start with the traditional or all-mtn mount and transition will be easy. If he goes park crazy then re-mount to a forward/park mount mid season or next year. The all mtn mount gets more float in fresh snow / pow... If u want a wider waisted ski try the ARV - it is a really good utility ski does everything - a west coast ski - but it will be too much of a change from years ago skiing.....
I haven't heard much good about Salomons or recent.....the Gun is soft, maybe the 1080 is a possibility....Dumount and Suspect are possibilities...
Lotta good skis r out there... others have already mentioned stiffer Volkls etc....good luck
I'm guessing there are better skis out there for your dad than park skis. If he wants a twin thats cool, but he might be happier with some outlaws or recons or whatever.
you could try the K2 apache series, they have all moutains skis with a slight twin tip to them.
or if he wants a twin, the saloman lord, or what ever the 90ish wasit one is called, 4FRNT MSPs might be good for getting back into the swing of things.
