SFB vs ANT

so these skis are totally different i know and i'm trying to decide which to mount up to start skinning

bacon is super fun but the 182 is a little short and the flex is a little soft for bombing
ANT is nomber but not as nimble and easy to toss around

any opinions?

If you're a good skier then you will have no problem with the ANTs. If you're a shit skier then don't get them.

you are going like...to both extremes...very stiff to very soft.

why not do something in the middle like gots, seths, etc....the seths would be good all around but might not be the BEST for skinning due to the rocker...but the rocker isnt all that defined so i dont really see that big an issue.

Yes.

Do you prefer stiff or soft?  Will you be doing more pow shredding or charging hard?  Where are you going to be skiing?

Ask yourself these questions.  Make these choices first, and move from there.

ya i understand that both aren't ideal and they are totally different but i own both so i'm trying to not just buy another pair. I'm probably going to use the ANTs unless i decide to buying something else. Just wondering what other people thought

i'll be doing day trip stuff, nothing too crazy, i'm just going to be getting into it. I'll probably get a duke because i tend to hammer equipment and i've heard good things about their durability. Other than that i'll probably break down and just buy something

With the choices listed I dont think he's too worried about anything but downhill performance.

If I were you I would mount up the SFBs. But thats just because it sounds like You'll only be skiing to get to good snow, and I dont really like my ANTs in pow that much. At least not pow where you have to turn.

I'm just talking out my ass here but you might also want to look into next years Bibby 190. I havent skied it, but for a ski its size its relatively light, I know a few people skied the 186 with dynafits and liked it so it cant suck at touring, and all around it sounds like the best of both worlds as far as nimble pow performance and charging lines go. Really thats just all hearsay though and I cant back it up myself.
