STATS
Route: Big Willow Canyon to lone peak summit basically sandy city to one of the largest peaks in the wasatch. Down from Lone into bells canyon
Vertical: 6,200 vertical climbed ~4,000 skied hike out the rest
Miles up: 4-5 unsure of exact
Time: 5 hours up 10 hours total trip

early start in hiking boots
getting way up above salt lake city early in the am still in hiking boots
time for the crampons. this is the "bra" looking thing you can see from salt lake under lone peak, which is a few ridges south of little cottonwood canyon. The push up the bra was awesome. its big and consistent climbing.
spirits were high the whole trip, even being very punishing.
after the bra the final push up to lone peak, this is a false summit.

the view into bells canyon from the top, beyond bells is the pfiferhorn the dark tusk to the right, alta and snowbird are left of that. monte cristo/mt superior is the far rocky peak to the left of the picture.

the NE face is steep its around 50 degrees. its 1500 vertical but seems small because its so steep and you can fall between jump turns.

bells canyon is full of fun rolling terrain
skis and boots off put hiking boots back on about 1.5 hours it took to the road from here.
hiking through the shade. what a trip
looking back up bells canyon, the reservoir practiacally ends the trip. amazing experience. bigger, stronger, faster
