i am looking into buying a sfb. wondering how it is as an all mountain ski?

Provided you A) Aren't tiny and B) Aren't too heavy they will show you an awesome time all around the mountain.

SFB's are soft as hell, and they ski somewhat short due to the early taper of the skis. I can lay a carve on these things like they were a much narrower ski not to mention they feel fairly solid at speed.

My only complaint about them is that they don't like ice or variable conditions.. but I mean, honestly what would you expect out of these skis.

ya its all been said. any fat ski will be out of place in ice and crud but ive heard that the sfb's are pretty good all mountain, as fat skis go

these are such fun skis, don't let the fact that they are a "powder ski" mislead you to thinking that they can't handle other conditions. I got these last year and they're hella fun; handle well on groomers (yes they are soft, but they still kill it), fun in the park, light weight and all that jazz. Just like everyone else said, the only thing is ice and tight moguls but besides that super sick skis. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds like you're confusing them with the Elizabeths. Which are super soft. Bacons are significantly stiffer.

Not so sure about that.  No early taper on lizzies, unlike the SFB's.  Yes they are stiffer, but still very much a medium flex ski.  With the exception of mo'ships, Line is all about flexy skis, so even a slightly stiffer one like the SFB feels like a noodle next to something like the volkl chopstick. 

Anyway, I've got them, love them, and you should get them.  but in the name of jah, do searchbar first please.

I love mine. Absolutely love them. On a day with any amount of fresh (from a couple inches to over a foot) they are so nice. They just brighten up my day until I'm jittery as hell. With less snow than that they are still fun, and because they are fat they have a different feel. I like to do tight leaning spraying turns for some reason on these. Like leaning so far over and dragging your hands. They turn super easy, and are good for tight trees. They do suck in hard snow, moguls, and chewed up crud though.

These skis are pretty soft. Like they are stiffer than an invader or EP pro or the like, but softer than most I think. They ski kinda short, but the width makes them nice and stable.

They are amazing skis, and I'd definitely recommend them.
