Backflip vs 36

hey
For what I'd get more points at the contest: for backflip or 36? Cause i've heard that for 36... but of course it depends on style of it.
I've just learned backflip and i can feel that it's technically easier to do it than 36. But it's of course more dangerous and spectacular.

nah thats not that much rotation but if u can only do a 36 then u need help

Backflips are easier than 360's and they're just straight up more impressive. People love straight flips as the X-games big air shows.

I think that the backflip should score the same as a 540 as far as difficulty, just because they require more balls and have a higher risk factor.

fuckn a, I gotta learn backflips. Fine to learn on a jump this summer? or should I wait for some powder. I have tried in powder and just landed on my back, like I didnt really rotate

It depends who is judging. I was scored higher for a backflip than a 3 but given different judges, it could have been a different story. Backflips have the wow factor which usually will gain some points. A stylie grabbed 3 will score more than a penciled 3 but whether or not it beats the backflip is up to the judges.

^^ And to the dude asking how... it sounds like you must have thrown your feet out and stopped. You need to arch your neck back and be looking for the landing. Keep your head locked back, spot the landing and bring your feet back under you and stomp right where you spotted.

i hear you brother. I tried my first backflip on a 30-ft true table in February of this year, didn't commit enough and landed flat on my ass/back and dislocated my hip. I was a little pissed because I had progressed so much that day learning a whole bag of new tricks, having just gotten the balls to hit bigger tables switch.

needless to say, I'm going to be hitting A LOT of tramps this off-season to get my rotation dialed before attempting again.

i think the best solution is to  try backflip jumpin' some bc kicker. we had a lot of fresh snow in pl in the middle of march so i decided to learn it ^^

that first photo is most definitely not a backflip.  the shot is in session 1242 and it's tanner doing a 540 in a quarter pipe.

yea backflips may be easier than 3's sometimes
backflips are definitely a crowd/judge pleaser, especially for a girl. Everyone will be like WTF??!!! OMG!! A BACKFLIP!!

i think it really depends on how it looks, a sloppy back flip over a sloppy three and a steezy three over a steezy backflip but it really can depend
