The laziness of this generation never ceases to amaze me. We have it easier then any other past generation when it comes to access to information for school purposes (thanks internet!), yet you're still to lazy to write a tiny 1.5 page paper. A simple google search on divorce should provide you with plenty of academic ammunition...

I hope you fail if you cop someone elses paper...

we had to pick a controversial subject to argue and the good ones got taken so me and my partner got stuck with this

Divorce isn't a bad thing, but getting married when you shouldn't is.  I am glad my parents didn't force staying together, because that most likely would have been far worse.

I feel exactly the same way, although there are cases where divorce can be bad. Everyones circumstance is different there is no "bad" or "good".

i could tell you about my friend that parents devorced becuase his dad caught his mom cheating and knocked the guy in the head with a bat. went to jail for atemted murder. and his mom left him. so hes lliving with his grandparents for now. hows that

yeah, people who aren't meant to be together/don't like eachother shouldn't have to stay together, but they shouldn't have gotten married in the first place

mom cheated on my dad with guy a. while with guy a, she cheated on him with guy b. she had my dad arrested for faulty abuse charges and then kicked out of our house on PFA. she stole from him for drugs and attempted to kill him. horrible horrible custody battle for me and my half brother, who ended up choosing to stay with my dad (not his mom). she was in and out of my life growing up making faulty promises and i fell for it every time because i wanted my mom.

haven't seen her since my grandfathers (dad's dad) funeral, which was 6 years ago. she showed up begging for money...


divorce is terrible in any situation. no matter how easy/smooth it goes

I read this the other day, thought i was hilarious.

Don't get married just because there's a run on weddings. Happens to every group of friends, particularly women friends. Someone gets married off in your little group, then a bunch of your friends do likewise. It's like a run on wide receivers in the late second round of your fantasy draft. Do not get swept up in this. I had the good fortune of marrying someone I like, and it's what keeps me sane every day. But Lord knows I've seen a fuckload of people out there get married just because it everyone else was doing it and they got all swept up in the idea of being married. There isn't a surer way to fuck yourself for life than by doing this.

The reason so many people get divorced now is because they don't take the time to figure out if they actually enjoy the company of the person they're fucking. Marriage can make life infinitely better, provided the person you choose to marry is as dedicated to your happiness as you are to theirs. But if it's anything less than that, NEVER GET MARRIED. EVER. Or else your life will be a giant fucking rut. Guaranteed.

this topic is kind of the most confusing thing i can think of... in my personal life
i have seen too many bad divorces.
all of my closest friends grew up in single parent homes, where divorce seemed like the easy way out, for both parents.  it has really affected a few of them pretty negatively.

but in my life, my dad got married right out of highschool, got divorced after 18 months.  years later he met my mom and now they have been happily married for 25 years. 

as much as i hate divorce, and i do hate it, for tearing so many lives apart, with out it, i would be alive...

the more i think about it, the more i see that the divorce isn't the poison in a realationship, it is selfishness and lack of self control. 
divorce should never be just an easy way out.
no fault divorce is one of the stupidest, and most harmful pieces of legislature ever written.

 I think divorce is good I have 2 reasons
 

I have one friend who's dad shot +killed his mom then killed himself in the parking lot of his 22 y/o son's appt while his son, sons wife, and sons kid(4y/o)  were watching. they all witness his mom getting shot in her car then as the son ran toward the scene his dad put the gun to his head and he hit the ground before the son could even get to him.

A kid I work with father got caught sleeping with a 17 y/o girl (2years older than his daughter at the time) so he slit his wifes throat let the pets out of the house then burned it down. He went ulta militant got in his hunting camo and hiked/swam up the river toward canada he was found under a bridge 3.5 miles from the border.

If either had just got divorced two familys would have parrents/grandparrents.
