College Algebra Help

So i have to take this stupid placement test to get into this calculous class for summer school. I took it in college but had to drop it because my teacher was horrible and now its really fucking me over. First test i got 5 points under what i needed. Hopefully you guys can help me figure out how to do some of these before my test today.

yea that's not hard at all, and a placement test is just every thing you learned in high school if you fail you have to take an extra coarse so you do use math at some other point in your life.

It is saying that it wants (g composed of f ) where x=0 not times 0

so g composed of f: you take G and replace the X in g with 2^X

So now you have (g o f) = 2^X -2

Anything to the power of zero is 1

Therefore by subbing 0 into that equation you get:

2^(0)-2

= 1-2

= -1

= D

Ok, First forget what i is equal to. In this case its the Square root of -1. FORGET THAT.

Now you have (i+1)(6i-10)

This simplifies to 6i^2 -4i-10 (if you dont get that ask.)

Now, you'll notice you have part of the answer (-4i)

But wheres the -16 come from?

Now if u remember i = root-1

If you sub i into 6i^2

you have a square root squared, in other words the ^2 and the square root sign cancel out, so you are left with 6(-1) of -6

So you now have -6-4i-10 which = -4i-16

for the inequality one you first solve it ignoring the absolute value signs.  so you solve -2x-5   -6.   do the same steps you did to solve the other one for x and you should end up with x

Alright, you set it up like this, ignore the absolute signs at first.

-2x-5 >= 6
-2x >= 11
x >= -11/2
