Summer skiing in Montana

Beartooth Pass Mt
Opens MAy 29th
Going to have a dope park this year
2 poma lifts
day ticket is $45 half is $35
planning on 1 big jump like 40ft+
2 secent average size like 30ft
and numerous small ones
tons of rails.

gunna be a dope summer

anyone planning on going?

WHAT!? Reminds me of Mt. Baker and Hwy 20 here in Washington. Thats fuckin unreal, I wish they offered lift accessed summer skiing here in Washington.

i used to go to camp up there like 5 years ago when there was a park camp called All Stars Ski Camp
This big mountain camp would be sick because the terrain there is unreal
such a fun place too

The park and the freerinding is public. The only thing private are the race courses. Its called a camp because various race and freestyle teams come to train in the summer. It was named a camp back in the 60s when it was started and it just hasnt changed.

yah that was gonna be my next question... it would be fun to plan a campin trip up around there to save on driving time to and fro for a weekend ya know? any info on spots? etc.

Rock Creek is a sick place to camp... its on the bottom of the pass. When I was there 3 summers ago we found a house in Red Lodge with 3 bedrooms and a hot tub that rented for $150/night. Camping is probably the best option though.

it is all public anyone can go and as far as i know you dont need a team to go. there is no limit for the number of skiers aloud on the hill but i could be wrong

it is reliable just kinda a small thing that not to many people know about.

its gunna be legit this year trust me

When I emailed them a month ago they said there would be a 100 skier limit on the hill.

The two pomas get SUPER congested. The good thing is the racers show up really early and leave when it starts to warm up which is when most of the other people show up.

Man I hope I can maybe possibly make it out there this summer. All I need is like a tent, skis, and hot dogs and a shit ton of gas money and the will to drive 24+ hours for a week of epic summer skiing. We will see...

WAY closer than hood from Colorado...only 9 hours...  probably gonna go here instead of road trip to oregon.  I really want to see pic of the park...  I probably wont go until early july but it looks sick.

I think they usually close July 4th but I heard this year they may stay open later if weather permits and enough people come and ski.

Okay, someone give me an informed opinion.

T-Line vs. Blackcomb vs. Beartooth

I've skied Timberline in the summer, but never these others.
What's the best overall? Taking everything into affect:

Skiing, camping, things to do after skiing, ect.

I can give you a second hand informed opinion from a kid I know who has been to all three. He told me that the skiing at Beartooth blew the others out of the water but TImberline and Whistler both have better parks. Sounds like this year the park could be pretty damn good though.


This isn't lift accessible, but its a short hike from the road and in the same area:



This is what the lift accessed looks like late in the summer after they close:

There is some dope lift accessible terrain especially if you are willing to hike (the hourglass)

Here is a really old video that was shot up there. This year's park should be way better:

This is lift accessible and requires a small amount of traversing and probably 15-30 minutes of uphill travel back to the lifts
