Okay, I finally got out of college for the summer on Thursday.  I was sitting around today and asked my friend Sarah if she wanted to go out tonight.  Last night, I spent 2 hours helping Sarah out talking about her ex boyfriend and she was crying to me on the phone etc.  I pretty much talked her down, and I feel like I helped a lot.  Today, I asked her if she wanted to hang out and she said "I'm just going to stay in for the night".  I thought fine, she just got back last week too so she probably wants to spend time at home.  Well I just called another friend and she said she was out with her too.  So, she lied to me and told me that she was staying in but instead went out with other people and didn't tell me.  All this after I helped her out, and I help her out ALL THE TIME.  ALL THE TIME.  I know NS is filled with a bunch of 15 year old guys, but what would you do in this situation?  Thanks if anyone gives serious answers, and I'll reward you with karma or whatever you want minus sexual favors.

ive never found something like this a big deal to be honest.  she may have just wanted to be out with a different group of people and thought you were trying to get with her at her moment of vulnerability..  not really sure.  dont make a big deal out of it.

Idk, probably try to bring it up to her...mention that u help her out alot and that you think of her as your friend, and if she doesn't apologize or change after that then she isn't a good friend anyways so screw her :P

the best advice is to not worry about it.  It isn't a big deal and if you over think it that is the only way it can be a bad thing.  If she does it a lot then maybe she doesn't wanna be your friend. But just once, let it go.

listen here noob. i ask you, will this matter in 5 years? is it really worth stressing over? look, she needs to grow up and realize ex-boyfriend problems are not the end of the world. its your mistake for helping her. tell her to pull herself together and get a little composure. if she lies to you about going out one night, so be it, shit happens. dont fret that shit. its one night in a 365 day year. you will live for some odd 80 FUCKIN YEARS. it does not matter. make your life better, forget it ever happened, move on.

omg, so my friend totally just blew me off to go hang out with some other friends, but i figured she'd be a lying bitch, so i went behind her back and talked to my OTHER friend who said she was totally going out with her tonight. i, like, can't BELIEVE she would do something like that after i helped her SO MUCH when her bf totally dumped her. i'm thinking about getting a half gallon of rocky road ice cream and the Notebook and just having a big pity party for myself... any of you NS friends are totally invited over, we're going to have a WAY better time watching the Notebook and crying about how lonely we are than that heinous bitch.

It's about what you want out of it, if you're the go-to guy for her baggage then that's what you're going to stay. If you want to date/go out with this guy start going out on your own and try to include her, and tell her to check her baggage at the door. There's nothing wrong with helping somebody out, but if it becomes evident that your role is just going to be to console her, you've got to be the one to make a change. Also, like was said before me, don't stress this shit - do your own thing and if she comes along, all the better.

The most likely scenario is that your friend is hot and your not. you are super supportive and good to talk to, but in a bar setting you're too prude and cautious and are a total downer. KNOW YOUR SOCIAL ROLE. thats why she doesn't call you when she wants to have fun, just when she needs emotional support or casual hanging out.

so take it from a person that has been in your friends position. Sometimes you just want to hang out with other people. I mean it's great that she came to you for help and I'm sure she is thankful but to hang out with you right after all that you would have that akward "are you ok? you wanna talk some more? you sure?" kind of vibe going and thats just not fun. maybe she just wanted to have fun for one night and not think about that. I don't condone the lying though thats lame sauce. And another question you must ask yourself and I'm not trying to be a bitch or anything just giving you something to think about but do you normally hang out if things are all hunkey dorey or did you ask if she wanted to hang out out of pitty?

i'd throw a fit and call her and tell her we weren't friends anymore, while crying, and put all of the things she gave me away, but not throw them out just in case, and go behind her back and tell everyone i know that she is a bitch and that i hate her now because of that one time she lied to me, and never speak to her again.
except that a couple weeks later i'd speak to her again, and make up, and get out all the stuff she gave me again, and tell everyone we are best friends forever, and that i was never really mad at her and i had no idea what they were talking about when they mentioned my fit, and then continue on being her friend.

until she lied to me again. then i'd repeat all the previous steps over a couple of weeks, until one of us finally moved away and forgot that we ever knew each other and tell all of our friends that the other was a bitch and we always hated them.


because that's what women do.

a friend of mine had an extra ticket to the NCAA lacrosse final four. it was supposed to be between me and a friend of mine and one other kid (who i thought the ticket holder was not freinds with) to get that ticket. my friend who was already going told the ticket holder to invite me. well in the end he invited the kid that i didnt even know he was friends with (and is a mooch) and was totally suprised and felt disrespected.

why did i feel bad you ask? the ticket holder is my goalie, and i am his best defender. i save his ass. he relies on me, he aint shit without me. and thats how i get repaid.
