Would using ankle weights on a tramp work to simulate and fix the problems which occur when taking something from the tramp to the snow. Or am I missing something?

It's a good idea. The difference is the weight out to the tip and tail of the ski. The weight out away from your toe and heal is what feels different when you take a trick to snow.
