well, queens of the stone age has had like 20 people pass through the band and they dont suck.

but slipknot is like disturbed, korn, and saliva...  they were cool, until you turned 13 and realized they are just sacks of crap.  i still listen to select songs from disturbed, korn, and saliva...  like3 total, one from each band....  but seriously...  they suck.

I wouldnt say they suck, cause it's obviously pretty hard to play what they play, but it just sounds like shit.

Why do they need a dj and a mixer?  Can't the dj just do that?  Or a sound guy backstage?  Why 3 drummers?  They aren't doing anything totally insane or revoluionary, they don't need 3.

Other than that they just aren't a very good metal band.

jesus...  im an avid fan of Rammstein and they have 6 guys in their band and i thought thats was too much...  DAMN!  lets see for Rammstein.  singer, lead guitar/vocals, rhythm guitar, bass, drummer, and keyboard....  hold shit...  9?  wtf?

I actually really like slipknot, saw them live a few weeks ago. sick show, but that's besides the point

the three drummer set up is not 3 actual drum kits. it's one guy on a drum kit, two guys on percussion such as timpani drums and marching snares. I think by using the two percussionist adds more to their sound than just the normal drums alone.

I also think the dj adds a lot more to the sound as well, really can pump a section up. As for the samples guy, i really don't know what he does live.

as I said before, i really like Slipknot. I don't really want to argue over types of music, atleast try to respect different types of music, regardless of if you like it or not. Just my thoughts..

people have seen all the their faces through other bands as Stone Sour and their drummer toured with Korn and Ministry, as well on dvds they've put out.

as for the masks, i think they're sick, it really does put more into the show.

I also saw one of their shows back in february, and it happened to be one of the best times of my life.

Personally I love slipknot, and I think the 9 band members actually bring a certain energy to their concerts to unify themselves as that "ridiculous" band. The DJ, and the extra percussionists bring a heavy, deep rhythm to most of their songs. Although, the sampler is mainly just there to sample drum solos, and extra beats to Joey Jordisons kit.

Slipknot has evolved way too much, almost to the point of being unrecognizable by many old fans. All hope is gone is not a good album, and is truly disappointing for many of the old school fans.

I liked all hope is gone, it's heavy but it's different from all the albums they've done. I agree that they have changed a lot since their first album, but for the sake of the artist, and the people who listen to the band, you can't keep putting out the same albums. I don't think All hope is gone is their best album, but I don't think it's terrible by any means. I really like the first three albums more, those albums can really pump you up, especially the first.

too comercial, I just hate new-metal and this is the most commercial of the shit show style so... their sound is made to appeal to young kids who like the agressivity of it. The only reason I like them is because their a good intro to metal band for kids who later on become true metal heads. their a good place to start going into metal

Yeah the actual drumming in the solo isn't amazing, but the speed and the angles are what make it really sick. This was also from around 2002, Joey Jordison has grown a lot as a drummer in that time i think. I don't want to claim i could destroy that solo, but i would have played it a bit differently though. You play drums though man?
