well I don't know for sure, but i'd have to say that it would be significantly easier because you're falling with the water. at the moment of impact it's already broken surface tension for you so it shouldnt be too hard

maybe it dosent matter with this because i guess your just engulfed in water and you dont really hit that hard.
but if you land with the point of your kayak down dosent you upper body thats out of the kayak take a bit of a hit?
