Well... its that time of the year again!

Winter has basically come to a close for most of us, and site traffic is winding down from our blazing peaks of 2009.

What this means is that nopoles and some of his new ninja recruits (there's rumours of a mini-nopoles clone) are getting their code on.

We've got a pretty good idea of some of the things we want to see get tweaked on the site, and we've looked at a ton of your suggestions. I wanted to put this thread up to hear everything and anything you guys would like to suggest!

probably suggested before,  but alot of people on ns make music, an while this is a skiing site not a music site, i think a music player would still get alot of use.

Seriously.. If you don't think it's a 10 then give it a 9 - having an equal number of 10s and 9s would end up with a 9.5 rating anyway

I don't know where to put this, and I don't want to make a thread about it, but I'm really pissed that my computer almost got crashed courtesy of a fucking KFC survey ad that floated into my god damn window out of nowhere. One of those sneaky ads that slows your shit down if you're computer's kinda old................ shit I'd expect to find watching porn, not on NS.

i didnt see it mentioned here, but some kid posted up in nsg and said kind of like facebook notifications when someone replies to a thread instead of having to check.

i more along the lines thought it would help for cults and regionals to remain more active, that theres something similar to the inbox, maybe more on the side that lets you know whats up where, say like someone posted in a cult or in your regional you have the option of checking it out because its sort of like flashing saying HEY IM ACTIVE, as opposed to have to go directly to the forums to see if someone actually wrote something.

i think it also doesnt help that a lot of cults are dead because theres like for example 5 of the same ones, a lot of useless ones and a lot of ones no one can specifically join because its hiding in the mysterious shrubbery of the internet.

i think if a bunch of notifications get sent to your inbox though might just be as annoying as mass messages on facebook, which i cant stand. so kind of a seperate app would make more sense to me...

The advertisements have become overwhelming, NS members only agreed to ads that pertained to skiing/action sports and as long as they were reasonable.  These weight loss ads and pop ups are not action sports and not reasonable. 

My dell laptop crashed due to the NS ads, and now my brand new HP is all messed up due to the damn survey ads that pop up before you can even choose a forum. (yes I run firefox + ad blocker etc I am not stupid)

REMOVE THE AD's, or at least make them ski/bike/skate oriented, don't just accept the highest $$ from some weight loss company or KFC.

THIS SUCKS and so does TGR so fix it!

Can't believe you charge 32 bucks for a Tshirt, accept donations and then advertise to us like this, it sucks.

it's been discussed and everyone decided that it's not too big of a deal to just type in the password - or to just have your web browser remember your password. there's many more important things.

yes! it annoys me soo fucking much when im uploading a vid and its taking forever and it shows the same loading thing that was there the first few seconds into loading.

alright this is something that isn't exactly revolutionary but on certain links on the home page when I control click (like click to open up another tab to go to that page) it not only opens up another tab but sends the current tab to the clicked on page as well. This happens only when I click on team updates, news stories, Resort updates, upcoming events and featured blogs. This is the only site it happens on so I don't think there's a problem on my end.

When using the NS embed, could you make it so you can link to the video's page? It says "courtesy of Newschoolers.com," but I'd love the Newschoolers.com link to go to the video's original page.

There have been a few videos posted in the forums that I wanted to know where to find them on NS (to see the title, rate, comment, see who uploaded, etc)

Any chances this is doable?

TOo lazy to read, doubt its been mentioned, but here...

Upon accepting someone to a cult, have an automatic message sent to them from the cult master/leader explaining some ground rules, suggestions, etc

This would be especially helpful in Build-A-Jib

I dont know if this already exists but we could have something called the NS Awards for like:
Member of the Year
Noob of the Year
Cult of the Year
News Story of the Year
Thread of the Year
Most time on NS award
& More

Maybe the members could vote on these things and maybe swag or somethin from the ns store as prizes

Again not sure if this exists but i think it would be kind of cool to see something like this happen

going along with what he just said. make it possible select your regional forum, so that when you go to regionals, it automatically takes you there. still have the option to go to other regional forums, but be able to set one as your "home" area. for example when i got to forums, either when i click regionals make it go to the montana/wyoming forum (in my case) or make it so that when i select montana/wyoming as my home, that is added into my forums bar

Does anyone find the blue thread titles when you log out helpful? I personally find them distracting enough that I try not to ever log out to avoid them. If I want to see what threads have been posted in since I was last online, a quick glance at the top page or two of the forums does the trick well enough.

Use your browser to save your login info and that solves your problem.

There are much more pressing concerns regarding newschoolers than something that can be accomplished by a setting in a person's browser.

another thing. make it so that cult leaders can bring back threads when they want to, aka they arent permanently deleted, things can be moved pending review, not a huge thing and not totally necessary, just a thought
