WOW that is pretty unbelievable... sounds like a guy who was just trying to be a good citizen by knowing his rights and trying not to let the police bully him around.  I say good for him for standing up for his rights.

Cop's dog goes next door and gets in a fight with neighbor's dog then goes home. Cop gets his gun goes next door and kills neighbor's dog. Which was lying in the driveway. 10 feet from a 2yo girl.

Damn, that's scary, good for him for sticking up for his rights, I hope he presses charges (if he can press any). This kind of abuse has to be taken seriously because it can get out of hand, cops need to respect people's rights.

I know a few cops, and I dont think any of them have an extreme hate of minority's or just like beating people up in general.

One of them only does drug busts though :o

i've seen a woman with a broken leg get tazed for not standing up fast enough, then the cop bent her arm over the chair she was sitting on and broke that too.

This one is actually more disturbing than the taser ones actually.

The cop was in direct violation of the law to begin with by allowing his dog to become out of control and leaving his property. Then he has such poor judgement that he shoots a family's pet right in front of a young child.

Fire his ass IMMEDIATELY.

the pastor was good to ask for the dog to come back, they train those drug-dogs so they can false-signal under a cop's discrete command, it's fucking bullshit.  They say, oh the dog smelled something, so you can't do anything then.  ugggghhhhhh these pigs make me sick.

Hope he doesn't sue, because he would lose.  He is wrong about his 4th Amendment rights.  They don't need a warrant to search a car, nor were they lacking of reasonable suspicion (and once he refused and starting questioning their suspicion he bumped it up to probable cause for them!)

The cops sat there for an hour while he refused to comply and questioned their reasoning that his car deserved further inspection.  They were in the right, I'll probably get flamed with ignorant people who don't know the law, but sorry that's how it is.

I DON'T like the fact that cops use so much force to detain suspects who would likely be very easy to put some cuffs on.  That guy got his head cut up since they were scrambling to pull him out when it would have been easy to open another door and get him out.

Like the one where the girls dad was going in to a seizure so she calls the police shes 17 and tells them to come get an ambulence and the guys  a dumbass so she says go get the fucking police! and  well i'll look for it

again, not about the lawsuit. more about the police using excessive force. hence thread title "police brutality"

but word, i personally think the dudes kind of an asshole for not just letting them search his car and him not responding to their questions? what a fuckhead. i do think he should seek legal action for unnecessary force. i mean why would they continually tazer him like that? thats going too far.

Oh I see now.  I missed the first "word" and I send my most sincere apologies.  That pastor reminds me of the weird guy from Reno 911 who always calls the sheriff's department when he is doing something illegal....and says someone else is.

very true. but i think that now in a "modernized and civilized" first world country, we wouldnt be having any police overstepping their bounds at all. oh well, we dont live in a civilized world. 10 kids right now are probably being raped by child soldiers in Central Africa. the world is a ridiculous place.

has anybody else been following the Robert Dziekanski case?
if you've been listening lately, the officer who fired the tazer said that he "feared for his safety" because Dziekanski was holding a stapler. four cops couldn't handle a guy with a stapler. it's almost laughable, until you remember that somebody died.

Regardless of whether it's on the decline or not, the exposure (thanks to technology) is really shedding some light on the disregard for decency that many police officers carry. They have the ability to get away with too much, thanks in part to America's completely fucked justice system.

the first if in fact he had nothing to hide could have handled it much better, but the cops were way out of line in the course of action they took. how difficult is it for 10 cops to hand cuff 1 normal sized unarmed citizen. the police are the most dangerous gang in america

I could be wrong about this, but I'm fairly certain that probable cause based on a citizen refusing a search (which is your right) would never hold up in court. but thats fine cause a cop can just make some other reason up (i.e. "the car smelled like marijuana"), which they undoubtedly would.

Those videos are ridiculous....
there's been a lot of police...i wouldent say brutality but general dickery lately where i live as well. A couple of nights ago my buddy was walking from this party and 2 cop cars starting driving up on them. So they get out, put 2 kids in the back of the car because they were suspicous. So then my bud gets sketched out, starts to run. One of the cops gets out, chases him, and tackles him to the ground full force. Hits the pavement hard. They cuff him, and keep him for half an hour, after which they let him go because he had done absolutely nothing wrong. While all of this was happening, the other cop managed to run over my friends long board and snap it in half. The cop didn't apologize. Pretty fucking stupid if you ask me.

I've said this before in other threads about similar situations, but we can't exactly blame the officers for their violent behavior and abuse of power because that is what they are TRAINED to do.

IMO, cops shouldn't even need weapons (especially tasers) if they are well trained. A good policeman should be able to talk to and relate with a suspect, and even have the skills to talk-down a suspect in a potentially violent situation. A cop should rarely be in a situation where the use of any weapon is necessary. The training protocols and lax use of "non lethal" weaponry is absolute bullshit.

There are of course extreme circumstances (i.e. apprehension of a known violent offender) where the use of weaponry is justified.
