I just read this story on line's website about a 7 year old boy who is being sued for running over a guy's skis to avoid an accident. That is absolutely ridiculous, nobody deserves that, especially a 7-year old. Thoughts?

Yeah, repost, but at least a worthwhile one.

I hate it when simple accidents like this happen. The plaintiff (if the stories/videos were accurate) wasn't following the responsibility code -- he was stopped in the middle of a trail. Just get up and ski away, idiot. You don't sue someone who just ran over your skis, much less a seven year old.

i bet he was on some skis that cost enough to make the lawsuit worth it. Maybe he was on Grizzly's or something. Even then it'd still be retarded to even bother sueing a kid.

From 9news.com: He's suing for $75,000 for physical therapy and other expenses. The boy's father says his son was only trying to pass Pfahler and the collision wasn't violent. Colorado law states you can't sue a minor, so the court is expected to dismiss the portion of the suit filed against the boy.

Ah nevermind..........Update 4-6-09: Here is the update that has been requested. Apparently, the insurance company of Robb and Susan Swimm settled the lawsuit in 2008. Now, Robb and Susan are speaking out against "abusive lawsuits." The Swimms are working with Faces of Lawsuit Abuse which is sponsored by the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform. The organization is committed to exposing and fighting frivolous and abusive lawsuits.
