I just read this story on line's website about a 7 year old boy who is being sued for running over a guy's skis to avoid an accident. That is absolutely ridiculous, nobody deserves that, especially a 7-year old. Thoughts?

wow, that seems like a joke it's so stupid. It's people like that, manipulating the penal system, that make the U.S' entire base of law look retarded. So, this ski "accident" was actually a 7y/o going over the guys top sheets and not even hitting the skier? What is he being sued for? The plaintiff is a worthless asshole, I hope everything bad in life happens to him.

Whoever is that sick must be equally retarded. If that video was at all correct, the man was below him and stopped in the middle of the trail. Now correct me if I am wrong, but do not all skiers above have the right of way? The man carelessly stopped in the middle of the trail, obviously not looking up before doing so. If anybody should be getting sued here, it is the man. He put another skiers health in danger by doing this stupid action, and should be happy that the boy was quick enough to swerve over his skis. And that furthers my point, the fact that the boy was so close to the man, (obviously being an experienced enough skier to be able to make that agile of a move, in that amount of time) and the man stopped without clearing himself out of the way, and checking for skiers above who own the right of way, proves it was a careless mistake on his part, and completely his fault.

If you are at in intersection in your car, and you have the right of way, and as you are pulling out and as this happens, you clip another cars rear end, it is essentially their fault. You have the right of way, and they put you in danger by recklessly crossing an intersection A) not taking notice the car who holds the right of way or B) Crossing without looking at all.

Its the mans fault, so he should fuck himself.

reminds me of an 8th grade teacher me cfox and dr. derek knew.

we were walking in the hallway doing a congo line just for the fun of it idk we were 8th graders and dr. derek clips cfox's foot and he stumbles forward and bumps shoulders with gym teacher Mr. paulson like barely brushes shoulders. We all get calls home later that night saying he is threatening to sue us because we hurt his shoulder, which is definitly BS because it was like brushing shoulders with somebody in the hall, its nothing. Anyway the faggot made us write him apology letters, luckily we never got sued

Skiers below have the right of way! Think about it man, how could a skier in front/below you be aware of you when you're literally behind them?

Sure people suddenly stopping can cause collisions, but just like in a motor vehicle, the trailing skier (car) is responsible for maintaining a safe following distance so that if the downhill skier (in front car) has to stop suddenly, you must be able to stop/avoid as well. Otherwise.....you're to blame.

I just can't believe you have this completely backwards, hahaha, no hate or anything, but definitely a good laugh there.

Completely backwards, and your car example is ambiguous since it involved two arbitrary cars in an intersection, so I'm not sure what you point is there.

But no, it is the boys fault.  The point is that a stern talking to about being careful and keeping a safe distance is much more appropriate than a lawsuit.
