How can opinion be wrong? Tre is amazing, and his goofy silly antics is part of what makes him unique and intrigueing. I think his drumming is amazing and energetic, but I realize I'm not an expert at all on drumming. Billie has always played power cords, that isn't to say he can't play more complex stuff, it is just HIS style which he stays true to. He does't conform to anyone. Its the over all talent that makes him the the greatest front man of all time. His lyrics, vocals, energy, passion, strummin, sexiness, damn hottness.......He IS, all of these things, and that is what makes him amazing. Jason White, second guitar, is a good guitarist, and has toured with GD for years. They have also added another guitarist for their upcoming tour so Billie is freed up more to run around like a crazy man interacting with the crowd. He thoroughly enjoys his fans, and puts himself out there to make Green Day's concerts a spectical....an event not to be forgotten.
You can call them shit heads, but their is no denying that Green Day is one, if not the biggest rock band on the planet, and this epic release will prove that once again, Green Day have out done themselves.
Nice interview. Looks like Tre' has bedroom eyes for Billie, or high I'm not sure

Performance on GMA last week opeing up the summer music series. Love this song! How can you say Tre's no good. This song rocks
Well I'm 47 years old,and seen LOTS of bands come and go.I've never been so passionate about a band in my life. Their strong fan base ranges in all ages of people who appreciate good music..They were huge with release of Dookie, then American Idiot, and now their new release has started out bigger then any previously.Time will tell if it surpasses A.I.
Gosh, who can't relate to the issue's Billie writes about. In his younger days, it was all about the struggles teens have.Love, loss, drugs, sex, not being understood and being an outcast. As he has matured, so have his lyrics. He sings of todays issues that he faces, and affect us all.Organized religion, war, peace, being brainwashed by political leaders of our government.Billie's main point in "Know your Enemy" is that silence is the enemy. Don't be afraid to speak up! Be a minority, voice your beliefs and opinions. He is not angry, he just believes in being actively envolved in the decisions we make, don't just stand by and get f**ked over by religous or political leadership.Dare to be outspoken and gain knowledge to make educated decisions. All this put to an album that is fun to listen to.
On a lighter note, 21CBD has a mix of love songs(Last Night on Earth written to his wife of 14 years Addriene,BA songs like Christians inferno and East Jesus Nowhere, catchy songs that make you want to get up and dance as well as songs that send a message. It's a fun and serious album all in one that tells a very interesting story, if you take the time to listen.
Guess I'm not hear to change any one's opinion of the band, but I'll be damned if I'll be silent ;)!! Obviously you can see what I believe in.
Another amazing performance on The Tonight Show with Conan Obrien last night!! I just love the energy Billie puts into his performance....and he's so damn hot in his tight pants. Loved it when he went up into the crowd.....he adores all his fans so much. Then to give Conan a signature Gibson at the end.....so awesome! You can just tell that Conan adores the band. He knows talent when he see's/hears it!
No, but at the same time, nobody gets a free pass from criticism. Nobody's perfect.
You can't insult her for her taste in music, because that's based off an opinion in a rather maleable field.
Who gives a shit whether she likes them or not. That's completely irrelevant as to whether you like their music or not. The fact that she likes them and is proud of it is fine, let her say what she wants and, if you must, just snicker to yourself if you think she's being foolish instead of calling her out.
And no, I don't think they're as good as she builds them up to be, and yes, her repetitive adoring comments are getting pretty annoying, but who really cares? So she likes a band that most of NS doesn't. Big deal, get over it.
Just because you don't like a band, it doesn't mean the band is bad. Take, for instance, really really heavy screamo, like Slipknot and Lamb of God or whatever - I absolutely hate their music, but can I judge them as musicians? Maybe - but not set in concrete. I can say, "yeah, they suck," but what I should really be saying is "yeah, they suck because they don't appeal to me."
Music taste is an opinion and I do not have the right to either 1) judge people as being right or wrong about their music, or 2) criticize people themselves for liking their music.
So it doesn't matter whether they're original, or if their old stuff was better, or if their music is trite, or if they are falsely impersonating people who care about government issues and politics and blah blah blah. What makes a band "good" is whether they can appeal to people, and obviously Green Day does that, and 'people' is a much wider term than 'me' or 'you.'
'na mean?
[/end rant].
Touche. I guess that's where the argument comes in, and you're right.
But you can't judge the people by the music. "Old hag" was certainly uncalled for (I didn't read the thread - maybe it was idk, just sayin).
