1994 Subaru WRX

There is a 94 Subaru WRX selling near me. I know a lot of newschoolers drive subarus, and i was wondering if this is a reasonable deal.

It has RHD (always been a fan of) and only 72000km on it. Its 8000 CAD.

I know that i have to head over and check and test drive the car, but is it worth my time even?

8 grand for a 94? You can tell them to go fuck themselves. Sure Subaru's are nice and all but a 94 is not worth anywhere NEAR that even though it has 72K. You should pay 5200 MAAAX

72km=45ishk miles i believe, 8k canadien is 65i-7k american, and i BELIEVE its a wrx swap? if so thats a pretty fair price, and rhd pulls bitches like woah!

id say go for it, the older swaped casr ive always liked, not too many out there, especially rhd, id say go for it, or look for a newer (real) wrx for a little more moolah.

WRX came out in 1992 in Japan
Im not positive if its a swap or not, but i will talk to the seller.
I know the dealership its at has had lots of imported japanese cars in the past, so it is quite likely that it is a "real" WRX

If one car could be said to have spawned an entire motoring cult, its probably the Subaru Impreza Turbo. No, it wasnt the first four-wheel drive sports car, but it has legitimate claims on being the greatest. Since its introduction to the UK in 1994, the Turbo spawned a whole host of go-faster editions, and has subsequently metamorphosed into the WRX variants. Many thought the rush for this most prolific of Japanese evo-cars would die down after the early sales boom of the mid nineties but years later, turbocharged Imprezas are still hot tickets.


from some subie site.  I thought the same as you. I guess america doesn't get all the good shit first. I guess it might not of been called wrx then , just turbo impreza. not sure if the powerplant changed a lot for the 02 or not.

it could also be a svx , those were made that year, could be a typo

o wait, its RHD (which im pretty sure is not street legal in america) so i could be a 1994 because they only started the WRX in 2002 in north america. but still, your getting ripped off

In Canada, the 15 year import law means that RHD cars are legal if they are older than 15 years, so yes, it is street legal.
Also, reefsiderider, it is NOT an svx, thanks fo mentioning it could be, but i checked it against other pictures and it looks nothing alike.

Some people are straight up idiots on here and need to learn before they speak. The WRX came out in 1992 in Japan and some other countries. The US didn't get the WRX until 2002. Now from looking at it, it does seems to be a legit 94 WRX and not a swap. Also if you search around NASIOC.com you will find a lot of info on these cars. Honestly if it was me I would buy it in a heartbeat after I had a good mechanic look at it. Another thing on their website they have it listed for $6500 which I think is an awesome deal plus you might be able to talk them down. If I was you I'd search around NASIOC and maybe even create a thread and ask people on their because they won't bullshit you.

Not true. Well actually it may be true im not 100% positive on this and im too lazy to look it up right now, but i believe the U.S. got them  in 1998, when the first 2.5rs and STi 22b came out. Someone wanna look it up for me to make sure?

The STi 22b came out in 1998 and that was turbo'd just like todays STi. I think there were only 250 of them made for the country so they are extremely rare. Im almost positive there was a 98 Rex that was the 2.0 turbo

Compared to the base Impreza, the WRX has wider low-profile tires, larger brakes, and firmer, higher-quality suspension components.

The Impreza WRX was first sold in North America in the 2002 model year.
