Fruitboot to help my skiing?

Is it worth it for me to try and get my hands on some inline skates this summer and a rail in my driveway to work on rails n shit for skiing next winter?  Does it help, because if it doesn't then fuck that, all the fruitbooters I know are fags and I don't really want to have anything in common with them if I don't have to. 

No offense to any fruitbooters out there, I'm sure you're all cool.  The kids in my town all just suck.

hell yeah dude definitely check it out it helped me a ton check out the skates d-structure has i got my pair of razors icons from there and i love them if you need any help with choosing out what skate is best for you peep the link in my sig and call them they are super helpful and will tell you everything you need to know to get your hands on a pair of skates

it helps with balance, and it kinda is somewhat similar to doing a rail on skis in a way sorta. honestly i would say skateboarding would help u out more. if you do tranny and park stuff on skates maybe, but for just rails, get a board, itll help way more for balance and itll get your ankles flexible and your feet coordinated. but the way you do the tricks on the rails is pretty much completely different

I longboard which helps with balance and speed, but I can't ollie worth a shit.  I tried regular skateboarding for a year, it didn't work out.

with that kind of hater attitude I think skateboarding would suite you better. Any sport that involves balance and foot-eye coordination will help your skiing.

i skate and fruitboot.  Both help i think.  rollerblading isn't very similar to skiing on rails but it does help---for example 270's on i work on my spotting the rail rollerblading, then i  can bring that to skis.

about as epic as those crazy inline grinds you try to do on skis. Seriously though, skating helps your balance alot, especially transition skating.

fruitbooting will definitly help you get better i basiclly learned all my rail tricks from setting up a small down rail and just sessioning it for hours during the summer

ya def get your hands on some boots.  try out trs, valo, or razor.  it will def help out your skiing, it did for me anyways.  sorry the booters in your town are douches

YES. Get Deshi's! When you inline you have to have your weight centered because you don't have the long tip or tail like on skis... If you can start landing crazy shit on skates, it will be a piece of cake on skis!!

but it helped me a ton with balance spinning. i never land backseat now and can spin onto rails soo much easier and more comfortably

skateing last summer iis what got me like all my decent rail tricks this year lol... like it taught me and helped with spotting switchups and 2 ons and spinning 4s and 6s off rails. And as said above its mad fun, and its cheap to make a good pvc rail and you can train all summer for like 40 bucks after you get skates

if you can land a trick on a narrow, short platform like a skate, you can most likely land it on a 180cm long ski

If you think you can really swallow your man-pride... an even better thing to do is Gymnastics. Not only will it help you will balance and aerial awareness, you'll get freaking ripped.

rollerblading is definetly way cooler then park skiing in everyway. just rich people pretending they are rollerblading only easier cause snow is soft and skis have tails and tips and the magnitiude of tricks is kept to spinning on and off rails, skiings more like the baby brother of rollerblading when it comes to park

I don't know if I agree that it's cooler, but I will say it is 10 times more painful and currently more tech, but skiing is catching up on the tech side.

Gymnastics is great.  I don't think you have to swallow your pride either.  If you just sign up for a program then you'll be chilling with cool kids, learning how to do flips and things like that, and get jacked.  Overall, it's super fun.  I don't actually do gymnastics (I freerun)  but I train in a gym and it's just so fun.

I'm also thinking of taking up skating this summer.  I used to board, but I kinda wanna try blading.

Okay...you find me someone doing a switch 1080 over a 100 foot tabletop on rollerblades, or someone dropping a 50 foot cliff on rollerblades, and maybe I'll start to believe you.

That's actually not a bad idea.  I was thinking about asking a gym if I could use their trampoline, but maybe I'll just take an aerials program or something like that.

I just ordered a pair of some guy here, still waiting for them

But i built a 10' single barrel p rail for about 18$ and its sturdy as hell..

Should be fun over the summer and hopefully carry a little over into skiing

learning a new grind is not that tough on blades, learning to actually slide something on skis aka getting on the rail perfectly so that you can slide to the end without falling is way harder than locking onto something. blades are made for grinding rails and skis are made for sliding on snow. you can hit so many burlier rails like that one 32 kink on blades because of it.

i gotta say air shit is a lot tougher on blades than skis because on skis you can land backseat and be okay but on blades you have to land perfect every time.

I used to blade a lot when I was really young, like anything its not gonna turn you into a pro skier, but will probably help and in different ways too. Its not that hard to get the basics down and youll have fun too, give it a go and find out for yourself maybe?

Skateboarding will help too but not in the same way, just more balance and timing and co-ordination skills blading will be more beneficial.

But by the sounds of your post your in fact retarded so disregard what I said and go surf because its cool.

Look up local gymnastics gyms in your area. 95% of gymnastics gyms have "open" nights where you can go and use their equipment for a small fee (usually around $10 for 2-3 hours) and they have gymnastics coaches there. Where I'm from in Wisconsin a lot of skiers and snowboarders go to open night... and they are all the best skiers and boarders you will see in the area for sure.

Some gyms even let you bring your skis or board if you line the edges with foam.
