Oh noes - what ski?

The Anthems might feel a little soft for all mountain riding, but are great in the park.  For more of an all mountain twin the Extremes, AR6s, and Chronics are your best choices.  Also, it doesn't look like the Chronic is coming in a 181cm next year, so this would be the year to get it.

Blends are a super fun, stable ski with slightly softer tips and tails that will still give you some float off-trail.

If you want to excel your park game, want solid edgehold, and aren't worried about off-trail performance then look at the Walls, Fischer Addicts, and Addict Pros.

apart from the other skis, i've been on all line skis mentioned and here are my thoughts. anthems are awesome at park but a tad bit too soft for the rest. chronics destroy the whole mountain and blends (currently on them) are just a sick 1 ski quiver, handles pow, groomed and everything else with ease. not a great park tool but not bad at all either.

I was the same as you, just transitioning from shredding groomers into more park and I got the AR6s and they have been amazing. They are a good width for rails but they are quick, soft enough for nice butters but really stable all over. My absolute favorite ski they are so great

Hey guys cheers, i was tempted by the chronic's, but havnt people be saying how they get beat up really easily? Also my heart says get the blends, but after riding some liberty hazmat's, i'm not so sure i want such a "wide" ski. Might have a look into finding some cheap AR6's, although in 181 could be an issue!!

although lines and k2 topsheets do kinda suck, they have been getting better every year and the chrons are a favorite all time ski for me. dont knock them and with the chronic cryptonites coming out they sound to be perfect for what you want. as for bingings look at a sth 14 or a look/rossi 15 both good i like look a lil more but its about the same

I would go for the AR6.

chronics don't get beat up that easily, at least my last 2 pairs held up verrry nicely for quite some time (still have my 05/06 pair). i'd say don't rule them out cus of durability issues, of course all skis will get fucked up if you ride them hard in the park, so it all depends on your type of riding. and blends freakin own! coming from chronics i can tell you that my pair of blends are probably the best ski i've ever been on. so much more stability from chrons to blends (and that's saying alot) ... versatility for park and all/mt depends on where you mount. i got mine mounted on the line (5 back) and was happy, might move them up a bit in the future to get a few more runs in the park.

for bindings get something like the look px jibs or their rossignol, coreupt or dynastar equivalent (same binding). salomon sth and marker jesters and griffons are good options too. 12 to 14 din depending on your din preference. oh and get some wide 100mm brakes if you do decide to get the blends. good luck dude, hope that helps!
