Caller ID

so i was texting my friend and in the middle of sending a text i get a call from her, it says her name and number on caller id, but when i answered it was some guy trying to sound like a girl and when i said "who is this?" they just said "you know who it is" then like cleared their throat and made some random ass noises then hung up. and i called her back and she answered this time and i explained what had happened and she just got fucking freaked out haha. idk whats going on or why her name showed up on the caller id but thats kinda fucked up haha. and i went back and checked call history and i for sure received a call from her number.

anyone else ever have that happen to them?

I  forget what it was but my brother was telling me about something like that... They can enter in a name and a number that they want to appear, and then somehow their calls are ported.

Say i somehow got your phone number... I could somehow(no idea how) call your phone but make any name/number appear that i wanted.

That is probably what happened to you.

i've seen waysto do that with a computer voice online, but have no idea how to do that

also someone called a swat department a few months back using a caller id mask, and convinced them they were the real police and there was a hostage situation
i think they showed up and shot a guy because they believed he was the one holding hostages

theres a prank website that does that. my cousin was watching the charlie the unicorn video and in the middle my friend had it ring with the charlie the unicorn hing as his caller id. he tripped balls for an hour till we told him what was up.

Not quite the same thing.. but people have called me and been like what the fuck are you talking about? I'm just confused so I ask what's up and they say "you texted me something random as fuck, didn't make any sense.."  Like two or three people have gotten texts from my number that I didn't send, and they messages were all messed up and garbled, one of them was like "Hey when tomato come apartment he said you northfield six" or some shit like that

i have that application on my storm. basically it's just a program and you enter the number you want to call, and the caller ID. so i pick the number to call then enter the number that will show up (it could be a friends or just 000000000). it goes through some server and that's how it is done. it's actually pretty funny.

she was at home, and she is an only child haha. oh and she was like checking her phone bill today and shit so thats not a possibilty. the wierd thing is its clearly someones voice and not just a computer.

ya when you use spoof card or any of those prank sites they connect you to the person thats pranking you but the caller id is different. or they can select a video on certain prank sites to play when you pick up. but when you try and call the number back it calls the real person in your phone.

the one for my phone is called 123 spoof. i just call directly from my cell phone, no computer bullshit. sure it was something like that...
