Sooo sick

alright, so i never get sick. I mean i get colds through the winter, but i never get strep or ear infections or the flu or anything like that, i have been generally healthy

well in october, i had a terrible soar throat and found out i had strep for the first time in like 16 years. Then in late march, i got strep AGAIN. yesterday, i wasnt feeling well, and today i woke up feeling like complete shit.

My throat is killing me like strep, but the 5 minute test was negative. I am super soar alll over my body. like pushing on the glads in my neck hurts and well as basically any part of my body. I've been really tired and have been sleeping all day. this morning i also had a 101 degree fever. plus i have an absolutly terrible headache

So since its not strep, im thinking it might be Mono? i mean i got tested for mono back in march, and it was negative, should i get tested again? i feel like complete shit and if its viral, then there is nothing they can do (which is why i hope for strep).

anyone got ideas? no runny nose, and no cough

but seriously it does sound like mono, but your tiredness should be more then just general fatigue.

Mono is different for everyone, so it's hard to say, but from what you've been saying I'd say it's most likely mono, just get it tested again.

i'm not gonna be "that guy" but swine flu is a respiratory illness that starts with a sore throat and general aches and fatigue are also a symptoms....
sry but it's something to take into consideration and i mean this 100% seriously

do what we did in boot camp, drink mad water and sweat out the sickness.

boot camp is germ heaven, we were always sick but never went to medical. trying having strep and going about normal business in boot camp with some cough drops if you were lucky, stop your fucking bitching for real. i'm sure ya gonna stay home from school too? or call out? fuck that shit. man the fuck up. so your throat is a little sore, only smoke half a pack in instead of the usual pack and a half and drink mad water.

i cant call out of work when the weekends been too long. in fact, i'll be up in 8 hours shaving and getting ready to run about 3 miles in 80 degree humid weather. yes it by choice, i signed up but some of you motherfuckers need to man the fuck up. i'm so cereal right now

next, swine flu is going around, when you show the exact symptoms it would be a responsible thing to go see a doctor about it, that's all i'm saying

According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include:

  • fever, which is usually high- check
  • cough
  • runny nose or stuffy nose
  • sore throat- check
  • body aches- check
  • headache- check
  • chills
  • fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme- check
  • diarrhea and vomiting (sometimes)

i never said it was, but it's highly contageous, going around right now, and he matches those symptoms so it's a possibility
i've never bought into the hype but it definitely exists. maybe he should just man up like you and your army buddies and go spread it to everyone he knows

never check your symptoms online! you will be given over 50 possible things it could be and most are far more serious than what you actually have. i've been feeling similar for about 3 weeks and the doctors told me all my mono tests were negative, but i am pretty convinced thats what i had anyway

today was unbarable. i felt soooo terrible. i went for a mono test but it was negative. now i'm being put on steroids as well as an antibiotic.

i doubt you would be able to sweat this one out, i was pretty fucking close to going to the hospital.

its a general antibiotic, not penicilin (normally for strep) because my doctor figures there is something in me that i should be getting rid of, viral and bacterial, so he gave me an antibiotic
