First off i think its an awesome idea!!!
To anyone who thinks dumont shouldn't have won then they are retarded, nuff said. with regard to the actual system itself there is a way to go but i think they did a pretty good job in the first year and should get a little credit for that.
I was at two of the european comps involved this year and there was a representative at both comps who got up and spoke in the riders meeting to explain the system. I have only just visited the site in the last few days but as far as im aware it has been live all season and they have been updating it fairly regularly.
I think the site is coll and it is awesome to see some of my buddies who are just trying to push their way through on a world ranking and im sure it will give them some encouragement to keep pushing next season.
For any of you haters saying that skiing shouldnt be about numbers and so on, i think the point you should be trying to make is that skiing can be a lot of different things to different people. If you are just in it for the fun or that epic pow line then right on go enjoy your pow line no one is stopping you no one is trying to tell you how to ski it has no bearing on what you do or how you feel when your out on the hill so why do you care.
This system is supposed to help promote the athletes that are attending the big competitions and so far i have not heard any complaints from those athletes. It is a way for them to keep pushing themselves throughout the season towards a common goal and gain themselves and their sponsors more exposure. and give skiing more structure to try and help it towards the Olympics.
