lots of people like them, i personally dont at all. ive riddin a few different originals and i would never buy one. they have an incredible turning radius which makes them sketch bombing big hills (trust me) and i dont like them so much for dancing, sliding, manualing, ect.. if you are just looking for a board to get you around campus or for commuting only it is a descent board.
originals are horrible for doing hills because no matter how tight you make the trucks, you will always get speed wobble... the reason for this is because inside the trucks, where the bushings would be, there are springs. which make it SUUPERR carvey. if you are geting this board for around town or just to chill and get some good ole carvin in, this is the board for you...
otherwise i would suggest you get a loaded. they are the sickest boards ever! a little on the expensive side. but they are 100% worth it!
dont get a longboard. not worth it. esspecially if your not gonna be bombing. just buy a regular skate deck with a super sick graphic or a zip zinger, mount it with risers, indy's, and cruiser wheels and go. so much better and cheaper. and you wont look like a fag
or get an earthwing superglider with lime zigzags and indy 169s and it will only cost like $20 more than a skateboard with idys. its a fantastic board for everything, and you have enough room to dance and slide when you wasnt to aswell. super fun board.
also, zigzaggers are a gimmick. they are a standard krooked skateboard deck with bits of wood cut off of it, making it just a skateboard that you can only effectively ride in 1 direction and is a little bit worse whn going forward aswell. a regualr skateboard deck is better in all situations.
also, for alot of people a longboard is definately worth it, ive had two and they are some of the most fun things ive ever done. drifting around a heelside turn and 35 mph is an icredible feeling.
