Chelsea did get robbed in my opinion... (i'm a celtic supporter, so i'm completely neutral in this one)

chelsea should have got a goal out of the camp nou contest though. thats where they failed. although... I dont think it will matter.. I feel like the mancs are gonna kill barca just the same as they would have chelsea.

i'm thinking 3-1 in the final for manchester u.

Arsenal do have a richer history than Chelsea that's for sure. And sure Roman's money did have a part to play in Chelsea winning the league those two years. Then again it could be argued he was just playing catch up. It could also be argued that Jose Mourinho and Ranieri brought in a team of hard working winners to get the job done (Duff, Eidur and the likes). Chelsea didn't exactly pull a Florentino Perez/Real Madrid in creating a team of galacticos. But yeah that Russian cash money was a blessing. Anyways, I'm pretty sure the two biggest spenders in England over the last few have been Liverpool and Man United. It's a shame Wenger doesn't get more money, it would be interesting to see how well Arsenal could compete with their total footy tactics if they had a bit better players. There would be some better parody in the league too. Still, I think a good hard and organized display a la English club teams or the German national side is generally better than ''beautiful football''. Chelsea proved it against Barcelona (as I think Manchester will do too). Fuck idiots like Johan Cruyff who cry everytime a team tackles hard or doesn't score 5 goals a game. Ok, I'm drifting hahaha.

I guess we'll agree to disagree with regards to the Drogba and Ballack reactions.

And Hiddink really is a class coach, probably the best in the world. There's only a handful of managers who could walk into any team and make them an instant winner, Capello, Hiddink, Lippi and possibly Mourinho come to mind.

Sepp Blatter is another grade A idiot. It's a shame the two biggest organizations in soccer are run by complete retards.

was so happy when iniesta scored. was a victory for football.i absoulte hate the way chelsea play.your home ground champions league semi final against 10 men defending a 1-0 lead and only 30% possession.deserved everthying they got.but even the most biased of people couldnt argue that they should have had 2 penalties at least.

The way drogba and ballack acted was horrible.yeah they should have had a couple of penalties but they should have known nothing they can do will chage the refs mind.they should have acted more like darren fletcher who got sent for a fair cahllenge and will now miss the biggest game of his life and he didnt even argue with the ref.

don't even get me started on blatter....

it seems like being a former legend makes you become a huge douche once you get to be in charge. All most of them ever do is criticize the way the game is today. I hope to God Zidane doesn't become like that. I'd love to know why they are all so hellbent on the 6+5 rule. They claim it will advance the sport, but anyone who isn't retarded will see that all it will do is make the best foreign players more money, and create mediocre leagues. I dunno though, i'm afraid they'll introduce it. (I know a lot of english people support it for some reason. don't they take pride in having the best teams, even if they are built by a lot of foreigners?!)

i don't have a bias because i don't follow the sport enough to prefer any teams, but i just thought barcelona played sloppily and shouldn't have won, but the goal in the 93rd minute was sick for sure.

celtic just got denied HUGE of a clear-cut penalty today v. rangers and might not be able to make it 4 in a row with an autobirth in the CL...
 if they got that penalty, and made it a 1-1 draw, they'd still have a 1 point lead in the standings with 3 matches left.

Henry - Could have been argued a few years ago but he plays as more of a winger now. I think you could make a better case for Eto'o.

Huntelaar - Not quite yet IMO

Zlatan - No. Just doesn't show up in big games.

Rooney - Good hard worker, great player. A strong case could be made for him too. I don't think he scares defences the way Drogba does, he kind of needs a supporting cast to get the job done.

You could add guys like Torres and Villa to your list as well.

The thing about Drogba is that he absolutely terrorizes defenders with his physical play. They hate playing against him. His physical play and hold up play are really what set him appart from most others in my mind. He's also a great passer, a decent finisher and makes great runs.

I guess claiming someone is the best striker in the world is obviously going to be refuted. It really comes down to what you would want in a striker and the style your team plays. Still, if I had my pick I would take Drogba first. He's undoubtedly in the top 5.

You talk like you didnt even watch the first leg.  Barcelona had Chelsea on the defense the ENTIRE first game.  if it not for the somewhat lucky defending and goal keeping chelsea would have been knocked out that first game.

the only reason henry is played as more of a winger is just because hes in barcalona, and they tend to run that full all out wing system where there really tends not to even BE a true striker. Hell, i'd put messi on this list too, if he was playing for anyone else... Put those guys in any system where there actually IS a true striker, and they will devestate anybody flat out. Especially Henry. The guy's still amazing (and hell, he's only a year older than drogba anyway)

Huntelaar might not be the best yet, but i'm expecting a breakout season next  year. The guy's so smart and quick, and when he uses his overall ability well, he's unstoppable in any concievable system out there.

Zlatan is my personal choice for best in the world. he didnt show up huge in the champions league this season perhaps, but he's been absolutely devestating to anyone in serie A this year, and has really shown that he can pass the ball amazingly well, and generating chemestry - something he's been working on, because he definitely was a little too ball hoggy before - as especially evident in his malmo and Ajax days, but even last season.

Rooney has a fantastic supporting cast, granted.. but if you look at him even before united.. in his everton days, even then he blew up the scene. Even as a mere teenager, he freaked defenses out. He doesnt so much individually scare other clubs, mainly because having man U come onto your fixture list is enough to make anyone shit thieir trousers these days.

drogba's good... no doubt about it. but I personally would choose others over him, and there are plenty of past performers such as henrick larsson (king of kings ;D), alan shearer, and cantona who if you go back a decade ago, i'd have easily selected as the best in the world.

I'm talking about the present moment. Clearly Drogba isn't the best striker of all time. And because Henry isn't playing as a pure striker right now I don't really rate him as one, same deal with Messi except he would never be able to fill that role. Zlatan I wouldn't even rate in the top 5. Great player but he literally disappears in big games. And the Italian league is old and slow, most of these guys would kill it there. Rooney is pretty nasty I'll admit. Like I said with the top 3 or 5 it probably comes down to personal preference right now, there's not one clear cut guy. Drogba is a strong lad and a big game player so I'll take him any day. My second choice would maybe be Eto'o, Villa or Rooney.

You're pissing me off now. Drogba, the best striker in the world???? He's not even the best striker in england. You say Henry is more of a winger, yet he has more goals than drogba, so what does that say about drogba. I don't really think any the best striker can come from La Liga as their defending is so shit compared to the premeir league it isn't even funny. Rooney is a bad man, but surely he is a winger as well when he plays (been playing on the left for quite some time if you haven't noticed). So what I am getting at is Fernando torres being the best all out striker. Drogba wouldn't even make top ten for me, which is a shame because when he is on form, and his attitudes decent, he is a force to be reckoned with.

As for Chelsea outplaying barcelona over the two legs....I'll mark that down as you being an angry deluded chelsea supporter. Chelsea defended amazing over the two legs, but outplayed barcelona, pfft, get over yourself.

Worst argument ever.

1 - Henry has more goals than Drogba yes, but he also plays on the best attacking team in the world. Drogba has also been out injured a lot this season and was not playing much under Scolari. Wingers can score goals too, look at CRY last season. As strikers though Henry and Drogba are basically on the same level.

2 - I have no idea what you're trying to prove by bringing Rooney up (you didn't really argue anything). Yeah he's a good player.

3 - Hahahaha! Torres the best striker in the world? Fuck off. I'm assuming you're some dirty Scouse who's just bitter because you won't be winning anything again this year. You were probably never even alive to see your shit team win the title. Now that I have that out of the way, Torres IS a great striker (I wanted him on my team before he joined Liverpool) but he's had a bad season. So on current form, no he is not the best, not even close.

They had way more scoring oppurtunities in the second leg as well. Sure Barca had the better end of the first leg. But in Europe, you have to play defensively away from home sometimes, there's no shame in that. Basically, it comes down to Chelsea executing their game plan perfectly, defend and then attack on the counter. Barcelona's game plan was attack attack, attack but I didn't see any of that happening. Over the two legs Chelsea were the better team, they literally bullied Barcelona around the pitch. So would you care to explain how Barcelona were better?

Think before you say something retarded next time. None of your arguments made sense so fuck off you bitter cunt.

P.S. I do agree that the Spanish league is not on the same level as the PL. You should get all those Spanish batti's to fuck off from your team and maybe you'll actually win something for once.

P.P.S. I'm curious who your list of top ten strikers in the world consists of if you refuse to include Drogba.

First off, there is no need to call people 'bitter cunts' because they don't agree with your shitty opinion that has drogba as the best striker in the world. It's disrespectful, and really isn't that necessary. Secondly, you are not even close in saying that I am a bitter scouse supporter (I actually support Arsenal you clown), just because I said that Torres is the best striker in the world (which he is, He's been injured most of this season, and personally I don't count injuries as 'poor form': eg. Terrorising Vidic against Man U which clearly isn't an easy job). My point with Rooney is that you said you wouldn't consider Henry a striker, then why would you consider Rooney a striker. When is the last time that you have seen rooney deployed up the middle, or even the furthest forward? Not for a while because he has been playing on the left wing (same position as Henry who is definitely a striker). Third you still can't admit that Barca outplayed you, you may have had more scoring oppurtunities, but do you realise how little of the ball you saw over those two legs. I think that passing the ball around your players and winning the ball back at will qualifies much more as outplaying than sitting 11 players behind the ball and hoping that they don't score.

Drogba wasn't playing much under scolari because he was pulling his whining bullshit about how he misses mourinho and all that shit. Henry is on a different planet compared to drogba, don't get it twisted, they will never be comparable.

ah face it, you've got a gooner arguing against a chelsea fan whether henry or drogba is the best, this argument will go on forever. The only remotely fair way to compare them is to look at their stats from the EPL as thats the only league (apart from ligue 1) that they have both played in. But Henry was there longer, played with arguably one of the best squads in history (the invincibles) and terrorized defenders while much younger.

As an arsenal supporter though though, i must say that watching the chelsea/barca game.....i noticed that  quite a few of chelseas mids/attackers would race into the box, then rather than try to finish or beat the defender, they would go down and fish for a penalty. If drogba and anelka had stayed on their feet, chelsea would have won fair and square.

I'm not going to argue the fact that Henry is better, because to be honest it should be common knowledge. Let me guess, Frank Lampard is the best CM in the world too or some shit?

Say what you want about Drogba but Henry is no angel either, if he's on a different planet then he's on planet tosser.

Essien clearly isn't the best cm in the world either as he got bossed around by yaya toure (he is however the best player on chelsea and I would love to see the man play for arsenal, before you think that I just don't like chelsea players or whatever). I don't think that Gallas is the best defender in the world, as he is clearly not. You have got me all wrong. I'm not basing my opinion of any of these players on which team they play for, simply for their abilities.
You say that football is about the goals which I clearly have to agree with, but if you remember correctly the score at the end of the match was 1-1. You must have been watching a different match than me, because I remember barca playing tight one or two touch football, using the whole pitch working the ball where they could (this had very little to do with chelsea closing them down, if you watch them that is how they play. they rarely go down the wings and cross into the box, they usually work it in the 18 with ridiculously incredible speed.) Whereas chelsea's hoof the ball and hope that: a) somone runs on to a flick on. b) drogba controls and holds play up. or c) malouda, anelka, or drogba run on in score-- Essentially Barcelona made Chelsea look like a sunday league teams at times, but then they have been doing that to a lot of teams this year, so fair enough.

As for me supporting arsenal, why the fuck do you care who I support? I couldn't give a shit that you support chelsea, who aren't all that either. Yes you fucked us up, but we beat you at stamford bridge already this year just in case you forgot? Your owner IS a cunt, your team is getting old, and you also haven't won shit this year... Plus they have little shits like you supporting them.

One more thing, putting aside that Henry played for arsenal and all that, how is he even close to the status level of cock that drogba/ronaldo are at? What has he ever done...

You're somewhat right, in any other game that's how Barca play. But, against a hard as fuck English team (in this case Chelsea) it went something like this: pass, pass, pass, fail. Playing through the middle with Chelsea will never work. And Cole had Messi's number just like he's done with many other superstars. I'm not Cashley's biggest fan but he runs game on basically everyone. The only Barca player who had some freedom was Iniesta. And Essien doesn't get bossed around by anyone. If you didn't notice Yaya was playing center back and had his hands full with Drogba. If anything Chelsea made Barcelona look like a Sunday league team. All the showboating, the little flicks the one two passing and nothing to show for it. Ok, maybe that's a bit of a stretch. But Chelsea weren't trying to attack or press, why can't you understand that? They had a game plan, stuck to it and executed to perfection. The same can't be said for Barca.

I don't really care that you support Arsenal, I was just pointing out the obvious. Your club is free points now. The big four is no more. As for age, yes my team is getting old. It would be a good time to offload players like Ballack and Deco for example. But experience has served us better than the youth you guys have. Maybe you should kick the pedo out of the manager role. He's past it. Ronaldo is next level wack, Drogba I can see how you may hate him (though denying his talent is ridiculous), but as a Chelsea I love him. He shows up when it matters most, that's more than can be said for most strikers in the world. gallas isn't a huge name, noteworthy player, but he gets shit done. Which is we only really noticed big defensive weaknesses once he wasn't there.

As for chelsea beating arsenal last week....did you see our lineup compared with yours?
I turned on the TV, saw the lineups, and said game over, and didn't watch. (for the record i didn't ditch the game, i had to go mother's day shopping)

The big difference between arsenal and the other big 3 is that we don't have an owner who just throws money at every problem, and if i remember right, we are also the only ones who aren't ass deep in debt. And the more important one is that as big name players on chelsea, man utd, liverpool all get older and start to lose ability/pace, arsenal's players will be hitting their prime, assuming they hold onto them for once. But of course arsenal always gets raped by injuries. I'm also pretty happy to see some american is progressively buying up more and more of the team. I know people disagree with it, but its time arsene is given actual money to spend and not have to make do with the pocket change the board gives him.

Next year i think, not entirely as a gooner, but just a fan of quality play in general, Arsenal will be a huge force to reckon with. With Arshavin playing full time, they are a totally different club,and guys like nasri, fabregas, and hopefully rosicky will be back to playing well.

God do i prefer actually playing the sport rather than arguing about pro teams....
