Breaking pvc?

Has anyone had trouble with pvc rails breaking when it gets cold?  I dont want eat shit next winter because the rail I'm building now shatters.....

ive broken pvc rails before. It has to do with the thickness of the pvc. Dont do small,thin pieces

yeah try to avoid the colored ones. my brother made a battle ship one year and when he was at the top it collapsed. it was fucking funny though ill have to find the vid somewhere

Be sure to use schedule 40 PVC. ALso Ive had the best luck with useing 2 or 3 pieces of smaller diameter PVC, like 3/4". Either way its PVC, its cheap so if it does break, just spend 3 bucks and fix it.

That's pretty much what I figured but there's a steel mill by where I live and I can get metal there for pretty cheap. I didn't know if it would be worth spending a couple extra bucks to make sure that it won't break.

you dont want shit to end up like filly fest 08.
definitely use thick PVC. it is worth it to spend a couple bucks more so you dont have to replace it every week.

i still say the best pvc is the grey outdoor pvc.  The white stuff everyone uses is for indoor use, and is very brittle, which is why it crakcs so much, especially in the winter.  The grey stuff is not so bittle and is made to take a beating.  The grey isnt as slippery, but if you eax it its perfect

All the gray stuff ive found is thinner and made for running burried wires through.

If you can get metal cheap, definitly go that route.

it definately can crack because of use.. idk if the cold makes it less durable or not tho

i have only broken pvc when it was -15 celcious.  other then that then i haven't had a single problem.  but to solve my breakage problems i bought some abs pipes which are usually black.  exactly the same as pvc but just works in cold weather better.

i just bought a really big, light green pvc tube about 10' long for my summer drop in and it slides reallly well. im not sure if the colours are corellated with the strength or usage but if anybody knows what green means then it would be appreciated.

back in the day my friends and i hit up our pvc rails in my backyard all the time and never had a problem, i sure youll be fine. we did use pretty big ones though

my pvc on my rail broke when zzzskizzz tried to switch up on it. but pvc is mad cheap so we got some more

my first pbs rail had a 3mm thick tube and i blew up under my feet on my first hit, but i put a 8mm piece on it and i lasted me all winter. so just spend the extra 5$ and youll be fine.

Get schedule 40. It doesn't crack when its cold. It sometimes chips tho in a freak accident. But it works great. I have a bunch of rails. U can see them here in some of these videos:
