anyone going looking at aftershows at clubs? STS9 is playing the Chicago House of Blues on Saturday night and MSTRKRFT w/ LA Riots is playing a club on Sunday night... i'm thinking about going to both, so if anyone wants to do some fun clubbing after the festival closes for the day, hit me up! the more, the merrier!!

sigh... some people just don't get Lolla. it's not a music festival in the traditional, let's-go-camping sense... the entire city becomes a music festival. clubs go all night long after the festival closes down for the day and that's the point- to integrate a great festival with the great nightlife Chicago has to offer. it's often over-looked or forgotten, but Chicago has a club scene on par with NYC, LA, and Miama, and better than Vegas (and i live in Vegas). the point is to make it a huge musical and cultural experience, not just a cute little music festival.

if you know anything, you know this is the most exciting music festival in North America. this is my fourth Lolla in a row and i'm losing my fucking mind in anticipation.

oh, gotcha, my b. i've just heard lots of people complain about Lolla because it "closes early"... no, they just don't get the point- the party moves from the park to all over the whole city. it's the most amazing weekend of my entire year.

I will be attending the sts9 after show at the HOB I cannot wait. I hope to go see Glitch Mob and STS9 at the festival too other than that there were not many other bands jumping out at me.

do some research... MSTRKRFT is really good electronic, Passion Pit is fun dance... there's a lot of really good music coming to Chicago August 7-9.

i'm planning to do the STS9 show, as well...

i awknowledge alot of really good music is coming, however that is not really the music I listen to for the most part. I am very stoked on Chicago that week though as STS9 is saturday night and Phish is tuesday night.


two summer 09 round two concerts, very excited.

no, it doesn't. Bassnectar's done at 10... STS9 goes on at 10:30... leave Bassnectar 15 mins early and you're fine.

i've been looking around a lot online and i'm pretty stoked- looks like they're slowly starting to really up the ante with their DJ/dance stage... although there's been little public talk about it, i'd expect Lolla to have their contract extended past 2011 and the dance area is going to continue to grow and grow. should be sicker and sicker in years to come!

today was insane! i flew into the Chi last night, so today was my first day at my fourth Lolla... and it did not disappoint.

i stayed at Perry's most of the day and danced for about 10 hours and ended up crowd surfing to Bassnectar... and for anyone who was there, from what i could see while on top of the crowd, people were packed in all the way back to the trees. shit was NUTS! crowd surfing to Bassnectar is definitely my second most epic Lolla memory... the first being Daft Punk Alive 2007.
