Should I get Windows 7?

I just got a HP HDX 18t laptop 64bit with vista, and I was wondering if you guys think I should install the win 7 beta. I use the laptop mostly for video editing (premiere, after effects), and I heard 7 has better performance, but partitioning and installing seems like kinda a pain in the ass. What do you guys think?

No, theres no reason unless you like tinkering with stuff, untill its out for real.

it is a bit better though

you shouldn't have to crack it, the RC lasts for a few months after the Retail comes out

if i duel boot with vista and 7, can I use the same programs on both without having to install multiple times?

Well I just installed the RC, and its really quite nice, not much has changed from the beta, other than some small ui stuff and a few small things. But its really good.

They have some pretty different wallpapers lol.

Microsofts site says the new RC will last until march 1st or something like that so you made as well

I just reimaged my laptop from vista to xp (free through the school) and am planning on dual booting with the RC. I had the beta and it was really nice, and I figure with xp and 7 i have most everything covered.

I've had some problems with After Effects CS4 (primarily when exporting anything other than AVIs) and Windows 7, but CS3 works fine (if not better) than Vista.

one more question: if i get 7rc, will i have to back everything up again next january when i get the full version, or is there like an easy upgrade?
