My friend just suffered from a gnarly crash longboarding about a week ago. He ended up fracturing his skull from his jaw all the way around his ear. He also broke his upper jaw. He was being a dumb ass and was not wearing a helmet. Neither was I, but basically this kid is lucky he is still alive right now. So when your out bombing hills with all your buds wear a helmet no matter what. This was a pretty gnar hill but it can happen anyone at any time. At the moment we don't even know if he will ski again or not. Hes doing alright, but it was a HUGE eye opener for all of us who longboard with him

++++ major vibes man. That sucks. I don't longboard, but I mountain bike and whenever, I go for a cruise around town, I wear a helmet, even though, it's easy riding. You never know when something bad can happen.

I was bombing a hill on my skateboard about a month ago and I ended up knocking myself out, and getting some pretty bad road rash. It was a wake up call for me, and I'm glad I didn't get seriously injured like your friend. I wasn't wearing a helmet either. +vibes to your friend. I hope for a speedy recovery.

ya, helmets are very important if you like keeping all of your good thoughts safe. thats why i wear one skiing and longboarding. its also smart to know your limits when bombing hills. if you cant control your longboard, then dont go down because there is a point of no return going down a hill that you dont know how to ride.
i hope your friend gets better and can still ski. i hate hearing these types of stories although it does remind me to be aware.
