Critique my 30 second film please. for movie production class.

So we had to make an edit of anything we wanted that kind of 'built up' to a climax of some sort.

i chose to do my friend dunking. What did you like, what didn't you like, what can I work on etc.

pretty sick. it looks like the exposure was changing in the first few shots, so maybe try to use exposure lock on those ones. it was pretty good though

how would I do that. the only thing I had on manual was the focus I think. some sony HD handycam from school.

but the exposure on manual so that you can set it to what you want and it cannot move

depending on the type of camera, it may be in one of the menu's. i dont know what kind of camera your using. on mine you do it with the directional button but its a canon.

One of the cameras doesn't record in a high enough frame rate so when you slow it down it's noticeably choppy. Cut that footage out.

Also, I don't know if it's just vimeo, but it's really badly interlaced.

really badly interlaced could be due to the fact that he might of been shooting in "24p."
More than likely your using an hdv camera. All mini dv or hdv tapes know is 60i and absolutely nothing else, but they can create 24p using a pulldown. Basically what im trying to get to is that really bad interlaced stuff your seeing is due to the fact that you have to remove the pull down in post. If that makes sense.
Basically i just recommend not shooting in 24p if thats the case. Thats just what it looks like.

Other than that it is a pretty good little short.

yea it seems like vimeo does that a little more than others though. like a c-walk video of a friend that I put on vimeo and youtube as well the vimeo one looks like shit compared to youtube.
