Take a look at Woodward at Copper. We are a fantastic facility for all ranges of athletes, including beginners.
At the early stages of training as a freeride skier you need to dial in your different sets and pops for spins and flips. You need to create muscle memory for how much pop, where your weight should be and what you should be doing with the rest of your body for those tricks. This trial and error directly to snow for the first time can be a longer and potentially more painful road. This is where Woodward at Copper comes in. We have a 20000 sqft indoor training facility that allows to learn those basic skills and set them into your muscle memory in a much safer environment than hucking straight to snow. You can start on the spring board gym floor, jump from the 6 tramps into the foam pit, hit the indoor snowflex jump to foam pit and then move outdoors to our Katal Innovations air bag on-snow jump.
We will then also be creating special jump features for the summer that you don't normally see at Copper. Our goal is to create a nice medium sized low impact step up so that you can start trying those newer tricks onto snow with a bit lower impact than a step down style table. We will also have a true table, rails, boxes, and possibly a qp.
It's worth mentionining that we are currently the most inexpensive summer on-snow/indoor camp, especially for those of us living in North America and even more so, in the USA. DIA is a really easy airport to get into and flights from many states are really cheap since DIA is the base for some of the best discount airlines in the U.S. Southwest, Frontier and United should all be really cheap right now. Transportation from DIA to Copper is super easy also. It's an hour and a half straight shot up I70 to Copper.
We are working on a gaggle of guest pro coaches and will always include our permanent year roundcoaching staff.
