so we've all seen the far to common problem of clutter on the forums. reposts and the same thread popping up several times. think about it, how many threads have you seen about shoes? the thing that sucks about the searchbar is that it doesnt search for topics, it searches for title and it is pretty shitty at even doing that. i find that if i dont know the exact name of a thread im looking for then im pretty much fucked at finding it. HERES HOW YOU FIX IT: make the searchbar function similar to youtube. Each thread should have tags that tell what the thread is about. either the author can make tags or maybe members can suggest tags and mods can approve of them im not sure but either way this is how you make the searchbar function. say i want to make a thread about this cat video on youtube. how do you check to see if somebody hasnt already posted it. a thread with this video could virtualy have any title, searching for "cat video" wont turn up anything unless thats the thread title, which it could be or it could just be "holy shit this video is sweet" or "this is why dogs suck" theres a plethora of different titles. but if the thread is tagged "cat, video, youtube, funny, dogs" etc. chances are youll find what youre looking for alot sooner.
