Critique my first photoshop/ graphic art

so i finally downloaded cs4 after a year of aspiring to be a graphic designer. i basically have been doing free hand graphic design work, and decided that i would have to get photoshop if i wanted to go anywhere. anyways, there is a contest going on in my city to design the cover for this catalog, and heree is my first entry. i have NOT submitted it yet, so any suggestions to change would be appreciated =)

i agree.. but i forgot to add that it is required to have a light bulb. so thats the best thing i could think of to incorporate one

maybe make the gold parts of the lightbulb the same color as the font?

its good but i dont like the lines coming out from the bulb
a yellow glow around the bulb would look cleaner and slightly more realistic IMO

yeah, too much white. tone down the stars glare too and fix the light around the light bulb.

IMO I don't like the font you used for the title, I love the small words though.  It's just too much going on and hard to read.  I like the lines with the lightbulb, but the lightbulb just looks way out of place in the whole picture, idk how you'd fix that... haha, thats all I got

I'd choose something other than the bleeding cowboy font.  I see it used everywhere.
