I thought that he was going huge, definitly, but I don't know if it was a first place run. He did, like, 4 straight airs. They were still really really far out, but still, I think Tanner got robbed out of a first. It should have been Tanner, Simon, Jon, in my opinion.

^^ no crap, mute 1080 landing with one ski? yes please. also, jons run was ridiculously styled and smooth. but I guess the judges really liked the amplitude over all else

i just about crapped a brick when simon went that huge. that was iiiiinnnnnnnsaaaaaaaaaneeeeeeeeee.

i agree jon shoulda won, simon's final run was a lot of straight airs. lots of amplitude, but straight airs none the less. jon's run was a lot more technical and way more fluid.

I think the judges made the right desicion. Simon definetly scores good for going so huge with such a risky trick on his first hit. So what if he had a few straight airs he had a sick run and kept it together.

ya, you have to respect simon's balls. he crashed his first two runs. he was in last place going into his third run. he could have played it safe and not have boosted so big but he went all out and earned his gold.

i still think what candide did last year was more insane. He duffed, got up, then next hit boosted close to 20 feet just from dropping in. I couldn't imagine how big he would have gone this year.

you could tell that simon wanted to cork 9 after the oop 5, but he didnt have it. that would have sealed the run fishoe./

i think crichtons flat 5 first hit, and simon's cork 5 first hit were equally as risky. who cares if simon was 3 feet higher than dc, dave travelled further down the pipe, which evens it out in my mind, and the flat 5 was just a better trick.
dc also threw less straight airs than simon, while maintaining amplitude the whole time (in his 2nd run).
had his binding not released, that was a gold medal run.
