I don't think it's overrated - it has the potential to be a pandemic.

It will get much worse, but I do however think that it is being overhyped at this point.

yea its hyped, but in a way i think its good that its being hyped now, now when 300 ppl have it, not 300 ppl dead, if we get paranoid about it now, people start being more hygenic, washing their hands etc and it will spread slower, give us more time to prepare for a pandemic

People also take flu medication unneccesarily which runs pharmacies out of stock so that when someone actually gets sick and needs flu medication (particularly in the southern hemisphere coming into winter) it is unavailable

the swine flu is just another strain of flu until they find a vaccine for it itll have the ability to be a pandemic. the symtoms are the same as the regular flu. the fear is if it mutates into another strain or something. prob casue it formed from those dirty mex bastards

yea most likely. It happens in nature, when population get to huge and its difficult to support a something usually drops it down.  The deer population in suburbs is a good example.  I forgot the correct name of the term you learn about it in bio.

I'm actually being less hygienic...I am a moderately healthy person, so swine flu wouldn't kill me, and if there is 1 case in my school district, seniors are done. I will take the hit for the class of '09.

try 90 years ago, that was in 1918. The Current "swine flu" is very distantly related to the swine flu from 1918, and the current strain has only appeared in humans, thereby rendering it...not swine flu
