I'm looking into a new pair of skis and it looks like I have the opportunity to get a pair of STLs for about 275, these are the 07 08 ones but I'm pretty sure they don't change much between the years, so if anyone has skied these skis at all, I'd appreciate it if they would let me know how they skied.
i got the 07-08's i liked them, light, poppy a little stiff for my liking(i like soft skis)but all around a pretty good ski. they lasted me a little over a season. they chip a ton on the top sheet and the bases are super weak. i mean if you hit a rock on them pretty hard then expect to see a core shot. i had like the most core shots that i've had on any ski. i then switched to line and like my anthems a ton more. i'd suggest line > 4frnt
while my stls were alive, they were, and still are my all time favorite park ski ever. they have a perfect mid flex, are wicked light, and just have a really good shape. they do everything incredibly well. ive been through a couple pairs of first and sencond gen ones, and theyve always had some durability issues. i cant vouche for the elan built (or wherever they are made now) ones, but for that cheap, id do it, just dont expect more than a season or two out of them. they are sick skis, just dont last.
i still have a pair thir like the map ones with the snow ppl on them and there so sick but now i just use them for yard skiing, but if they were good like 3 years ago im sure there even better now. deff get stls
