what you using to mix?
Ive got two tech 1200 mk5s, two cdj200s, rane ttm56, pio djm400, pio efx500, ableton, and some more crap

pretty good track selection as far as mainstream electro goes. I used to be all into trance, then prog, then electro, and now the mnml and tech house bug has bit me. only track I hate is the klaas, freaking klaas uses the same sounds and hooks in every track

and how? I spin vinyl, use the efx for my vinyl sets and scratching, ableton mainly for producing and my podcasts

Thats mainly what I mix. A lot of vocal trance / progressive trance. Lots of vocals....chicks love the vocals.

I have a tooooooon of mixes that you would be interested in.


For those who are interested in the hard I use.  I just use a Hercules DJ Console RMX and Traktor Pro. I got it for $230 open box at a Guitar Center.

No SL1200's, no CDJ1000's, no DJM800's, nada.

I've gotten to play a few house parties and stuff, but never made my way in to playing at a club yet. There are plenty of better trance DJ's to play in the club anyways.

I do mess with Ableton and Reason to try and make songs. But I never produce anything worth playing.

Tonight after work I'll go home and play around and make something for the girls of NS. And everyone can make fun of me for trying to be Armin Van Buuren and playing cheesy mainstream trance.

Getting a spot in a club as a trance DJ is near impossible as nobody can dance to it, thats why I started changing my genres and havent looked back. But clubs arent that fun anyways, Ive done them and its tons of management drama and blah blah blah, VIP is pretty rad though

i route my live sound through my computer and use ableton's effects processors.. but I guess to each his own, it works for me
