I cheated my way through Pre Calc then when I got to calc I had no clue what was going on so I had to drop out. The Guidance consouler was like "wow you had 90's before why are you struggling?"

half of precalc is just trig. easy (to me i guess) shit like law of sines and making right triangles out of obtuse ones and stuff.

Easy there killer, but it's not a specific problem, it's just I can't focus at all because I don't know where to begin to pay attenion. I try too, but then wander off into whatever I do. Any Tips for just focusing, or strategies more or less?

Write down EVERYTHING.

If the teacher writes an example up on the board or if you see one, just try to do it, don't even wait for an explanation on how. Eventually you start being able to do them without having to hear the explanation of the question.

I don't know if you're in university or not, I'm in grade 11 and taking calc next year, so I don't know if you can go in for extra help, but if you can then that is by far the best way to get up to speed. And do your damn homework.

Yea dude I'm a junior in high school, but that sounds good I'll try that tommorow, and I do go after for help. Home Work not so much though, its worth no percent of our grade, but I try to do some problems at least. Any other tips?

i'm just kidding man. If you can't focus during class go in 10th period (that's what it is in my school) and get 1 on 1 help. maybe that will help you focus.

seriously.. homework helps a lot even if it doesnt count for anything.. i stopped doing my homework for a little while and started doing horribely but now that ive started up again i can understand it.. also take all the notes and do the practice problems.. good luck!

Make sure you don't just do the first 5 homework problems. You have to make sure you can do the last 5, as the last ones are the most important and hardest usually. Keep working, don't let it slip and it'll come to you.

what it comes down to in higher level math classes is that you have to be on top of your notes and homwork. if you write down everything the teacher does, you will get it. you dont have to do all of your homework by any means, do a few easy ones for confidence, and a few of the hardest ones to test yourself. more often than not the tests will be mostly easy and medium problems. if you take good notes your golden....

Personally in math class (differential equations) I try to take minimal notes, and just mentally stay a step ahead of the teacher. If you are always trying to copy down shit, you can't focus on trying to figure it out for your self. Also, do the assigned problems.

Though in my pre clac class me and my friends got bored so we counted out loud to like two thousand. Took a couple of class preiods.

i found them both easy. calc 2 is probably the hardest..calc 3 isnt really hard til you hit stokes theorem and gauss theorem

If you seriously want to improve your grade you have to start applying yourself. Erase your games, move away from your friends, sit in the front, ask questions (don't give a fuck if the smarter kids think your a dumb ass), and go in for help. Spending 15 minutes a day applying yourself will not get you anywhere. You need to crack down and do what you need to do.

Now if only i could listen to my own advice...
