strode420- You're exactly right. You know why? Because it's engineered to be dramatic. No one wants to watch a bunch of skiers taking three runs, trying to beat something they know to be the best pipe run ever thrown down. It's not TV enough.... so therefore, ALL of the high scores are given only in the final round, 'heating things up' for ESPN, but fucking over the riders. Think about why they gave Pete Olenick's run such a high score- they were coming into the third run, and had to 'heat things up' by finally pushing the bar above 90. You could have switched all of the riders' runs around, and it wouldn't matter... their third run, provided they didnt totally suck, would score higher than their previous runs. They want everything to come down to the last minute.
