I grew out of the stage in life that you're at around 8th grade. I hope you're not older than 15.

If you don't like what the school teaches you then educate yourself muthafucka. There's plenty of good books out there.

school is stupid and your stupid if you think that school is "absolutely important" like my parents do. now let me clarify a bit. I love learning, and there are some things that i could go to class for for hours. however school(specifically college) is so fucked up these days. we "have" to go to college or were fucked for the rest of our lives job wise. thats so dumb. everyone i know goes to college and most people hate it. alot of people say they aren't learning shit and guess what thats the truth. half the people in class are on facebook or txting or just flat out not paying attention and then when it comes time for a test we all cheat and on papers we just use wikipedia. Its stupid college has just become a huge money industry, all we are to the school is a tuition and all they are to us is, not a place to learn and get knowledge etc, but a piece of paper they give us in four years thats basically just a fucking expensive receipt. The problem is is that as americans we have to long of a life expectancy now. if we were indians or some shit wed be full grown adults and we wouldnt have to deal with this shit. but because we have to prolong our youth and shit college is just a perfect way to continue sucking on mommys teet. and its goddamn expensive too.

Dude i'm not doing great in school. I used to hate it but now I just hate my teachers. You do learn a lot of unessary shit but so what suck it up and get it done with or you'll be in there longer than your suppossed to be. You should be excited about college, rest of your life where you get to make the decisions. And i don't agree that if you only go to college for a couple years or just a community college you'll be fucked, now adays alot of jobs just depend on if you know someone. Just work hard and get it done.

seriously? im gonna assume that about everybody is in school here, middle school, high school, college, med school. for those that arnt in the later two (college, med school) your currently at the easiest fucking stage in your life. you have parents who pay lots of taxes so you can get a education and become a repectable member that contributes to society ( even though i do not agree with the fact you must contribute to society). You have a fucking house that your parents have worked their asses off for almost 20 years to pay for and have another 15 years till its even off their mind. most of you are spoiled (prove me wrong) and get to get new ski equiptment every damn season. most of you dont work a job cause your parents pay you an "allowance" as in you bring in the garbage cans, then go ask your mom for $20 in which you go spend it on weed, since ns is the only thing that keeps you going or however the OP worded it, you are a hard core weed tokein rastafarian. Also you dont pay insurance, you dont live in the poverty of america, you were given a car, you get to go to fucking college. every thing i listed is a benefit of being a god damn american. now suck it up. you dont have to do anything other then go to school, get a education so you can go to college and waste your tuition and meal plans on liquor, and eventually drop out? no, your so damn lucky you get to even go to school, that you get to go to middle/high school, and that you have rights and live in america. now dont you think your a little spoiled if you dont have the self motivation to stay awake in school, slake off get a 1.2 gpa, and not get yelled at by your parents? if your parents arnt on your back all the time and your doing crappy in school/life, then their bad parents, but if they are on your back and your gonna bitch about your life being hard, and you dont get to excercise your rights, then FUCK YOU (thats me excercising my right bitch!!!!!!)
grow some damn balls get your education, find a career that isnt dead, or get us to saying, "Would you like fries with that?"

My problem is that I want to grow up to be a recording engineer. And most people go to school to achieve their dreams, well I had my professor tell me to not go to school as I know more then the graduates, so it leaves me wondering what the hell to do

First get clean!! or at least Monday through Friday!
Then get as much back work as you can.
Do assignments ON TIME!!
and just try

But in all seriousness, High School is probably the worst excuse for an education that has ever been created.  Sure there are good ones out there, sure there are private schools that your parents pay tens of thousands so you can go to them, but seriously, High School is such a waste of life.

I personally like to learn things, I read books and shit and I can formulate sentences pretty decently, but I learned all this shit in the fourth grade.  I mean seriously, high school is such a fucking joke.  It's a waste of so much of your life.  You sit in little chairs at desks for 7 hours a day, a grand total of 35 hours a week, that's a lot.  In college you have (depending on where you go), around 12-20 hours a week, spread out over the days or whatever.  So much more conducive to a learning atmosphere.  Who wants to sit in a fucking cement building for 7 hours a day, listening to the same boring people talk about the same boring shit you've been learning for the past 10 years, day after day for 180 days a year, for 4 fucking years.  That shit is wrong.  Plus you gotta wake up at 6 AM when multiple studies have shown that kids who wake up around 8 or 9AM learn better, like, a lot better, and do better on tests and everything, but still the school systems think its a good idea to make kids wake up at 6 fucking AM.  I know that high school is such a joke and easy and shit, and I'm passing all my classes, but hell, it is sooooo useless.  I can't wait til I get out of this shitty institution in like 6 weeks.

You are blessed to have the opportunity to learn these things. Every day you get an opportunity to look a little deeper into our world, to understand more things, and become a better person for it. There is so much out there that you can learn, why would you squander even a second of it? If you're bored in school then you're not understanding what you're being taught, take interest, ask questions, challenge yourself. School is a gift and it appears that some people have a distorted view of it. I consider myself so blessed to be able to take physics 20, thats grade 11, because it is simply so fascinating, and it is always a new challenge. If you're not learning in school, then try to learn outside of it. Read books, take courses, learn to play a musical instrument. Then tie it back into your schooling and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Appreciate what you have and enjoy it while you do.

i can completely understand people saying that highschool is useless, because honestly some of it is. but i think your taking the whole moron i hate school thing to a completely new and ignorant level...

im still in school, and while i dont like it all that much, what it comes down to is dealing with it, and making the best of the situation. you need to understand that if you fuck off and think your cool for getting a 1.3 or whatever than your just a fucking idiot. your squandering one of the most important rights that you have, an education. you can read (assuming you dont also hate reading because your just too fucking cool) almost any story of either a black person who was oppressed under jim crow laws of the south, or slavery, or someone who immigrated to the u.s. from a 3rd world country and they will tell you that  one of the things that they valued more than anything was an education. what would you do if you were not allowed to go to school to better your life. because what it comes down to is that school ultimately sets the tone for the rest of your life. if you fuck up in high school and either drop out or cant get into a college, your life will be filled with considerably less opprotunites. now, i dont believe in the notion that you have to be rich to be succesful in life, all that ultimately matters to me is happiness, but if you dont go to school and work in a fucking mccdonalds in life it will be hard to accomplish anything. you can do the gypsie thing for as long as you want, but it is nice to have an alternative. appreciate what is provided for you, suck it up and it will be done before you know it. all that having this kinda attitude will do for you is make you look like a douche. all you have to do is do a minimal amount of work, get c's, not bitch and you will be fine. grow some balls, or at least let them drop, because if your older than 9th grade i feel bad for you. if you cant deal with something that is in all reality a favor for you, then maybe you should fucking move to kenya and see what its like there. the kids appreciate what little they are given, and you should learn to as well.

Go find an old vet, someone who dropped out of high school to go fight in a war. Ask them about their experiances. Ask them why, at age 50, they went back to school to get their GED. And they're more proud to own that than any 18 high schooler in the country. An education is something special. It's one thing that can NEVER be taken away from you once you have it. And education is something that will open up doors that you had never even known were there. It will take you to places that you didn't even know existed. And will blow your mind with amazing information that you couldn't even imagine. I can guarantee that if I ever won the lottery, one of the first things I would do, would be to go back to school and learn even more. I just hope some of you realize it before it's too late.

i feel like once you get to college, school is that much better. You learn about more interesting stuff that is probably related to what you want to do for the rest of your life. Sure you still have to take some bullshit required classes, but it's not that bad.

I'm not a slacker in the least, I've always gotten straight a's with a schedule loaded with ap classes and honors courses, i love learning and i don't mind studying. I read all the time and am on the staff of my newspaper and in the theatre program....but god damn do i hate high school. I find it really hard to motivate myself to do work for teachers who care less than i do, and outside of class high school is basically a prison (atleast mine is) full of ridiculous and unnecessary rules and regulations because the administrators sit in their offices wondering what havok teenagers will cause with the tiniest freedoms
