i want to get a decent pair of twins for next season and was wodnering if someone could suggest a nice starter ski. i mostly do all mountain with a bit of park and glades thrown in there. im not looking to spend too much money but u know im just looking for a pretty good all around ski
if you are 5'2" 110 lbs i would say get a "transition" ski like the dynastar nothing but trouble (07/08) theyre really cheap now or armada AR6's, and mount like 4-5 cm back. I wouldn't get anthems unless you ski almost all park and chronics might be too stiff for someone at 110 pounds. I was like 5'3" 110 when i got my nothing but troubles and they have been great and i skied about 50% park 25% groomers and 25% trees with them. they sound perfect for you and theyre cheap so you dont have to worry about growing out of them too fast
ar6's all the way. they are a great beginner ski, and a great advanced ski so you have room to grow. If your going to do a lot of park get them center, but if your going mostly all mountain then go factory recommended which I think is a -5 cause then you have a more suitable mogul and groomer ski.
yeah they all look super similar in colors and such. sick skis. pretty much the best ski for all mountain-park riding, unless you want to get into different types of skis like different camber and sidecut designs, but like you said you want a starter ski, and the ar6 is probably the sickest but also one of the spendiest choices that would work best for you.
because he said he wanted a starter ski, something as fat as the blend might be a little much when your just getting started. i don't know how much of a beginner he is actually talking about but thats why the fuck people are recommending more forgiving, all mountain skis that would be super easy to learn on. lots of simple park skis tend to be that way.
