Super sick party concept at WSSF - Silent Disco

I have to post this up... just released.

I went to this wicked party at the festival last week. It was called "Silent Disco", sponsored by like Kokanee and Skullcandy.

They had 3 DJ's, and each were playing on a different channel. When you got in, you got an FM transciever and a pair of Skullcandy headphones. You then picked a channel, due to the fact that there were no speakers in the main room.

So there was zero music playing, and you chose your vibe. I absolutely loved it... Halfway through the vid is shots from the party. You can see everyone was partying their brains out, but I was chilling in the corner talking to my buddies listening to groovy funk music.



Fucking awesome.

No way, it actually made it a lot easier to talk. I was just chatting with my buddy Mike the whole time, and you could just push one ear off the headphones or adjust the volume if you couldn't hear.

Think how hard it usually is to hear people at a party!

that was a pretty sick party with pretty sick skullcandy's you shoul make ns skullcandy's that would be such a big hit in the store!

interesting concept...would be cool if you could bring your own headphones to something like that (cuts down on the excessive productions of headphones for parties).

pretty dope, i dont know why i assumed it would actually be silent haha, like genuinely library quiet. that makes no sense, whether the music is being blared out loud or not drunken partiers are always obnoxiously loud haha.

these silent raves started popping up a couple years back i believe, awesome to see big companies like Kokanee getting into it as well.

Yeah but then I wouldn't have a super sick pair of new skullcandy headphones with the iphone microphone built into them.

It was silent in the bar with no music, but people were talking and yelling which made sure it wasn't like weird uncomfortable.

But listening to smooth funk while the entire bar chants the chorus to house of pain - Jump and parties their brains out is a super cool experience. :)
