Screamin Seaman? Caribou? What on earth are they....?

So i know what each of these tricks are, but how can they be classified.
They're not spins, and they're not grabs, and they're obviously not grinds, presses or butters, so what are they?

I tried to explain the concept to a non-skier friend today, and i was lost as to what to call them.

Suggestions?

I would just call them tricks. Screamin seamans and shifties fall into the category of air tricks. Caribous fall into the category of rail tricks.

Does everything have to be classified (probably yeah if we get into the olympics)? Screamin Semen has been around for so long and no one hasn't tried to classify it yet, it's just crossing your legs while in the air, adds difficulty, may be ugly if not done right. As for the Caribou, a way to land and a way to ride?

i've never heard of "Caribou" before, what is that? can someone post a video or picture or somthing?

But screamin Seaman is, just like straight airs, shiftys and daffys just normal airtricks.. not grabs, just tricks.. or somthing lik that, dunno how to classify them, do we really have to?.. haha

yeah a screamin seaman is an aerial/mogul trick and a caribou is a rail/flatland trick

screamin seaman is old school. consider it to be in the same grouping as spreads, daffy's, twisters, cossaks, iron cross's, "helicopters", you know, old school.

hard to explain, when riding you lift one foot so its riding switch with the other is riding normal.. super awkward looking, i think shea flynn does them alot

charles garnier did a karibou on the island feature at x games i think on one of his slopestyle runs. screamin seaman is hard to explain in words you lift one of your skis out over the other and then bring your ski back in so your boots are on the wrong sides if that makes sense. from there you have to get back to normal before you land. byron wells, jossis little brother does them steeze as!

i'd put a screamin seaman in the same category as a spread or a daffy...old school

not sure about a caribou though
