I have not yet used a ramp, but im not gonna lie, im heading to COC this summer, and wuold like to try it....
What kind of Karma do you get if you learned backs; fronts; 7's; never landed a ten, but landed a 9 trying one; on 205 straight slaloms?
Yeah, at one point I was all about oozing testosterone, but things change sometime in your 30's. It's one thing if you can't afford or don't have access to water ramps, tramps, foam pits, etc; but to intentionally shun them as training tool is rediculous. That's kind of like picking up the skankiest hoe you can find and doing her without a rubber while screaming "bareback rules"!!! No offense to any skanky hoes out there.
If you just go out and huck your carcass, bad stuff will happen eventually. If you have ever personally watch a guy do a one and a half back flip to hard pack, snap his neck, and never walk again; you might rethink your methods.
My main focus is to design and build the sickest water ramp park that anyone has ever seen. I'm doing it primarily because the bar keeps getting raised and I want to do anything I can to make the progression safer. I also think/know that there is a better way to build a water ramp setup so that it will be much more realistic.
I wonder how many of the guys out there doing dub corks learned them on snow. The first off axis tricks were learned on water ramps. If it weren't for water ramps, we would all still be doing flips and spins on axis.
The bottom line is that everyone on NS wants to improve. It's great when you are the filthiest guy on the hill, but there is something to be said for being able to throw backs and learn new tricks at 42. Many of the guys who take the "no net" approach will be lucky if they can walk down a flight of stairs at 42, much less teach their kids how to 270 on.
I have never used a water ramp, so where's my Karma? As soon as I get Huck and Splash built, you can bet that I will be out there every day, and if it works, I will open one near you. I will also do everything I can to make it affordable.
BR and NS rules.
I would love to see a vid of someone doing a switch 10 on a ramp...the shit is the sketchiest shit there is. if you fall on the take off or on the inrun, your gonna get mashed up.
An epic shot is of Tanner way back when, doing a switch backflip off a ramp.
i lol'd, is that you?
and ya dude ramping is scary at times, i couldnt imagine hitting it switch i would much rather hit a snow jump switch. but as for forward tricks go ramping is a good way to learn cause if you dont commit you dont end up fucking yourself up for the season.
theres absolutely no good reason at all 2 use a water ramp or any off mountain practice feature. if u dont hav th balls 2 try th trick, u shudnt b tryin 2 trick urself!
using a water ramp is like goin into xtreme denial of ur balllessness! just dont fucking do it!
ya so when someone breaks thier neck trying a backflip or something with no clue how to do it they should get +K
are you serious
