Living in a fraternity house is absurd...

I am hammered, just to start, but seriously, I've seen some of the craziest shit this year in my house. Sex in the hallways (me in the study room), fights, around the world parties, roomates wrestling in the halls, fights about fraternal reputations, the craziest parties of my life, etc etc.

Just an FYI. I am amazed by some of the shit that goes down. Stupidity and alcohol at its finest.

not all chicks. most fraternity guys are fags that cant make friends unless they pay a group to say that they are brothers... no offense to any fraternity brothers but its true that most of you just party and drink and do nothing that fraternities used to. Dont even get me started on sororities because they are usually just a bunch of whores who also pay for friends... sorry if i offended anyone. I do have really great friends in both fraternities and sororities. I just think its lame.

as for buying friends...pretty much all of the money spent on dues goes to social events, like trips to the beach and formals and shit. Its the same as going with your friends to six flags and spending $40 that day hanging out with them. chill

also not all fraternities are all bro and all that shit. some suck terribly, but remember that fraternities are different from school to school and different within that school. just dont judge everyone based on if they are in a fraternity. at some schools its where the only social life/parties happen because everyone else is a computer nerd playing wow on friday nights.

not really. we get to choose what we do with our money. the events are fun enough that no one really wants to change them anyways. we can decide where to go for formals and shit. and if you dont want to go, you dont go. you clearly have no idea how stuff works.

whores dig attention. And i would imagine getting fucked in the middle of a hallway gets you plenty of attention. As a senior in college having seen way too much fraternity bullshit over the past 4 years, I don't give a fuck if people call it a stereotype because I've actually witnessed it in person and seen it. No, I am not in a frat, but I have been to frat parties countless times and it's just plain and simple - getting a bunch of overly hyped up wanting to prove their masculinity guys in one house is just a recipe for stupid behavior. It's not that its a fraternity per say, but that many idiots all in one place never will work out well. Add alcohol to the equation and it only gets worse.

yes, there are super bro popped collar fraternities out there but there are also a lot of dope ones. for example with the one i recently joined you hear rap booming as soon as you walk in the door and all you smell is dank being smoked. they are basically skier kids without the skiing. its dope because theres always something to do, somebody to smoke with, somebody to play ping pong with, somebody to just kick it with whenever you are at the house. i was so anti-frat last semester until i went in to check it out when i got injured and now its one of the best things ive done in my life. if you join the right one you wont be elephant walking or any gay shit like that. yeah youll get hazed and theyll talk shit to you and make you do physical shit but you just have to block that out its not like they make you do that everytime you walk through the house when you are a pledge.

everybody whose not in a fraternity cant understand how you wouldnt wanna be in one, everybody whose not in a fraternity can't understand how you would want to be in one. its an argument that will never end and ive been on both sides of it and can say that its 100% worth all the trouble you go through as a pledge. it's basically forcing yourself to stand up to adversity and make some of the best friends of your life by going through it with them. the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

A lot of fraternities are even reducing or getting rid of the pledge process all together. I was in a fraternity for a short time(SigEp) and there was no hazing, no pledging, no disrespect, no nothing. I was offered a bid and was made a full functioning brother. I was rediculously anti frat until I visited and heard what they are about, like others have said if you find the right one it can be totally legit, and a good stepping stone for your future.

i fucking hate fraternities and most of the people in them...  i almost joined one last year and i am so glad that i didnt.  all those things are is all the people that were top dog in high school trying to relive the feeling of being top dog at college....

man drinking isnt only to relax. when i drink its for parties and well to get stupid basically. Being drunk is really fun. like i kinda agree i will chill sometimes and have a rum and coke or crack open a couple brewskis while watching hockey or football but its not only to relax.

my brother lives in a frat house, he goes to Wash U. so its not like drink yourself into a comma and party monday-saturday. they have a strict no drugs rule, and they are voted the best frat on campus

i went and stayed with him for a weekend, they hosted a concert were Icon the Mic King and Bronze Nazareth played, in the house and had like 1000 kids. it was amazing. i hung out with Icon who is the man, and partied with all these kids and what not. very respectable. they also invented this game, its kinda like beer pong but its sooooooooo hard.

you have 2 cups on your side, one in each corner (same on the other side). there is a rope attached to the ceiling at both ends but hangs down over the table. you have a die (like 6 sided) and you have to throw it over that rope, and get it in, or near, or something close to those beers and you kinda get points and what not.

anyway, i saw this kid underhand flick a dice, over the rope, and land right in the kids cup. i was amazed

most fraternities in the south are in huge houses. But there's 100+ people in the fraternity and sometimes over 50-60 that live in the house. some of them are nice. some of them are not. mine was built in the 40s and is just too damn old.

most of you are stereotypical and know nothing. while we prob party the hardest at my school, since its an engineering school, its not all about partying. people are still studying and getting their shit done.
